A)
OBJECTIVE
The dog is
to sit quickly and smartly when handler stops or on command
with its right shoulder close and parallel to the
handler’s left knee or hip.

COMMAND : SIT
C)
EXERCISE
-
Method A:
Simultaneously
give the command SIT, placing the right hand on the
dog’s chest to prevent forward motion and with the
flat left hand over the dog’s croup, apply even
pressure with a forward and downward tilting action.
Once sat, praise accordingly.

Method B:
Simultaneously
give the command SIT, lifting the lead with the right hand
in an upward direction and with the flat left hand over the
dog’s croup, apply even pressure with a forward and
downward tilting motion. Once sat, praise accordingly.
NOTE:
For
small breeds, the exercise may be practiced on the table.
