Heel -  Sit  -  Down  -  Stand -  Sit Stay, Stand Stay, Down Stay - Recall - Finish

FINISH

This exercise is not to be taught in conjunction with the RECALL.

EXERCISE

On the order FINISH, the handler gives the command HEEL, at the same time stepping back with the right foot and, with a gentle tug on the lead with the right hand, encourages the dog to come around the back of the handler while changing the lead from right to left hand behind the back. If the left foot has been brought back to join the right foot, the whole movement can now be completed by stepping forward with the left foot to the original position drawing the dog forward to sit properly in the heel position. Aim to make all movements fluent and continuous, this will only come with practice.
