Omigod,,,, this sounds sooo fun!!! Really hope we can make this one... we have to be in Kuching that weekend (esp the Friday) so will try to make it back by the Saturday night in time for this SUnday event)...

what kind of obstacle track is the dogathon? Like just a sand track, or it includes "obstacles" you need to complete with your dog?

We think Brinks might have a chance with the waggiest dog competition... so we'll start training Wink

The obstacle course is a simple one..some tires lying flat on the ground, a hurdle or two.. I propose we nominate Gina and Biscuit to represent this forum for the dogathon. This pair moves very fast.. Gina what say you? Wink

It's only 2 rounds the UPM campus..2km only-lah! We'll be cheering for you!

Maybe it'll be a good idea to meet up for dinner on the night before..especially for our PEN friends who are coming down. I will be entering LeeSha for the fastest eating duo. Me can wolf down them dry cornflakes plenty fast.. And LeeSha is the fastest eater in the house of Lee. Smile

Yup! It'll be fun. Hope you guys can make it back in time to join us.

FYI, last year, the 1st runner up to this Marathon was a lady and her min.pin! Maybe we can enlist MingYang and her mocha huh? Alternately, we gotta get the long legs breeds like the Labs and Goldies..Maybe Kangser and Nous, Boon and Bonnie?

I believe there's a dress up contest as well... have to find out more on this. Biscuit could come dress as a reindeer..he'll look cute with his little antlers!

Btw, Mocha can definitely run FAST esp if you have bizkit, nous, mou mou or biscuit chasing after her but Mocha's MAMA cannot run as fast lor. This I think I'll pass it to let her DADDY to have the honour of chasing after her ! Laugh

If this time fishball steam boat again, i scared kang ser and myself do 'that' one time or one round not enuf loh, must run multiple time....yuk..............can't think of what we did that day.........takut......no more fishball for the time being. . As part of the committee of Dogathon 2003 i'll try to clear any confusion ere. And alternatively, you can also use the seremban highway to reach UPM. Just remember that UPM is huge, follow the black signs to actually Bukit Expo. If all else fails, just follow where everyone is going Wink

.
And according to the programmers, this ear's obstacle course is slighty more difficult that the previous years....mnore challenging mah.

Yes..it'll be great to enter the contests just for the heck of it.. Smile

For the fastest eating duo..humans will be fed cereals..minus milk. Also have to drink one glass of water. This contest is quite hiliarous..some doggies just turn their nose up at the kibbles.. others just dive in and eat withou waiting for the go signal(thus disqualified). This is where obedience training comes in handy! Smile

Hopefully this year, they will split the group up into large and small breeds..I mean, no way our doggies can compete with a hungry lab or rottie.. Crazy

Glad to have a committee member of Dogathon 2003 right here in the forum! The leaflet does not mention much about the doggie dress up contest. It'll be great if you can elaborate further on this..like what is the theme? or just come in any fancy dress costume will do?
