It is a common misperception that mongrels do not possess the admirable qualities of purebred dogs. In actual fact, mongrels have to capacity to be everything a purebred dog is...and what more, MINUS the inherent deficiencies present in each purebreed. So a mongrel is a great way to go.
However, the mongrel also poses an element of uncertainty (especially in terms of temperament) because of the genetic mixture between several breeds (which often cannot even be readily identified just by looking at the offspring). It can work both for and against us. So to adopt a mongrel would mean that one needs to have a sense of "adventure"!
