doggie daycare Can't Post

i am thinking of starting a daycare facility for dogs and i hope it's alright for me to ask a few preliminary questions as part of my research.
  1. i am wondering how much poeple are willing to pay for such a service?
  2. what kind of facilities, services etc would people like for their pets?
  3. are most dogs paper trained, grass trained, etc? your feedback would be most appreciated.

thanks

Hi Alicia,

My feedback as follows:

1. day-care.. say from 8.30 a.m - 6 p.m .. may be Rm15 - 20? I think the normal boarding offered by Petshop is Rm30 - Rm 35.. Also size does matter Smile

2. F&B, bath, nail-cutting, ear-cleaning, tick-catching, toys, exercises Smile etc.. Personally, I would like my dog to be off-leashed as well.

3. IMHO, mmm.... may be 70% dogs r paper or grass trained

Smile

Re: [alicia] doggie daycare [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Alicia,

Here's my feedback.

1. First of all, the person running the facility must be friendly and loves dogs (some ppl do it just for $$$$). I'm willing to pay for boarding service provided that the price is reasonable, say between RM15 - RM25 and my dog don't get to be caged all day long (that's the most important thing).

2. Grooming service, home made dog food/treat

3. Most dogs are either paper or grass trained but mine is towel trained.

Hope thats help.

Ur daycare mean like nursery or boarding ?? is long term or short term??

1) For me dairly may be u can charge RM 20 to RM 30 for KL. If Pg sure cannot some are wan BCG.Blush
2) grooming, food, toy, one thing is make sure all doggie without flea. If the owner after bring back the dog found out got flea there will be got problem for u. Unimpressed May be u can do some anti flea for all doggie who stay at ur place.
3)My doggie are paper train.

Hope my opinion wont make u blur. BlushTongue

Re: [alicia] doggie daycare [In reply to] Can't Post

I believe that's a fantastic idea. If a doggie daycare is within my area and I have to work office hours, I would definitely send my dog there. There are so many wonderful suggestions, i.e. grooming, feeding, caring and walking. I think offering boarding services would be a good idea too. The owners can bring the food and treats they feed their dog(s) in containers and tag them to avoid confusion. Since I'm sure most pet slaves would want their doggies to continue using the same food and stuff. As for how much, Rm15 is pretty reasonable. The only issue you would probably face is if the dogs have not been properly socialised or trained. And you can't accept any doggies with health problems (since most are contagious).

Re: [alicia] doggie daycare [In reply to] Can't Post

hmm...how much...guess that has to depend on what facilities are available.

I guess under RM 20..again depending on what facilities are available.

I would want my pet to have a decent, uncrammed place to sleep. Also that he is sufficiently excercised daily. Played with too. And of course fed accordingly.

hope this helps.. Smile

hie~

i'm willing to pay not more than 20 bucks for a day~~

would be great if there's a neat little baby pool for big dogs..with rubber duckies floating around~ hee, some dogs just love the water.

also, should be off leashed and given open space to run, not locked in cage. preferbly no fierce dogs...

oh, and a "comfy zone" for the tired pooches to lay around and relax..lots of pillows~ cushions~ soft toys~~~

i'm requesting too much already. hee hee.

Re: [alicia] doggie daycare [In reply to] Can't Post

same with others i can only paid max RM15. coz i'm still a student. i believe that my doggie will have fun playing there while i'm in college.

as for grooming service, it's not necessary for my short coat doggie. and my dog is grass trained.

most important thing is ofcoz must be free of ticks/fleas and is not cage or chain up.

hi alicia,

1. I'm basically willing to pay RM15-25 for the service ranging from toy dog to huge ones.

2. Well, to me is depends on you. Its like a company providing its service to the public. What is that consist in your program which will attract the people to come to do business with you. To me a normal basic place that could keep my furkid happy would be sufficient.

3. I would say my furkid is paper trained and some people are grass trained. But i guess mostly trained dog will be send to this kind of facility 'cause they love their puppy/dog...to love them..they surely give them training..

Hope this helps!

Cool

Cheers always!

Re: [alicia] doggie daycare [In reply to] Can't Post

firstly, thank you all so much for the feedback.

the facility will provide a living room and small garden concept for the dogs to spend their time in. they will not be caged or leashed. i had already thought of providing a kiddie pool for water loving dogs.

the boarding facility will be based on a real hotel, so you pay per room, not per dog though a small surcharge would apply for rooms with two or more dogs. this is so friends can stay together.

am currently applying for permission from the complex management and arranging financial backing. wish me luck. if this goes through, i will advertise on this site like crazy and hope you guys will be able to check out my facility.

Smilehi,

if it base by per room, wht source of room is tht? is it air conditional?? wht kind of facilities u provide for our doggie?? sorry if i ask too many question.im quite excited.SlySlySly

for me, the price should be reasonable n base on the facilities. honestly,is quite hard to find a good boarding serv in m'sia (have go thru some bad experience b4).all i ask is a good n clean environment,a caring care taker n a space for our furkid to walk.

looking forward to ur pets hotel.Smile

Hi Alicia,

Just wondering whether your daycare plan has gone for the grand opening yet? I will definately happy to send my dog over if it is convenient place to drop my doggy.

I'm afraid to commit to get a dog now cause I do not have time to take care as I'm working and will only be home in the evening. If I can find a daycare where I can put my doggy and confident that he is in good hands, I will definately rush to buy a dog now. Smile

Hi Alicia, just curious about this great idea and how it is progressing. Never seen your adds anywhere – unfortunately.

I would be a great supporter and drop in my dog on regular basis.

I would happily spend my money for a nice air-con daycare center, which has enough space for the dog to walk around, play a little with other dogs and is taken care of by dog lovers.

My dog would “call” when he needs to do his business and would not mess indoors.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Re: [Lennie] doggie daycare [In reply to] Can't Post

Lennie, thanks for the tip and I read about your daycare offer - just now. However, you stated clearly that it is for toy breed to medium size dogs only.

You would be the first one to consider my dog as medium sized dog Cool; hence, I just want to confirm that point with you.
