Frisbee Can't Post

tips to teach your furkids to play frisbee.

1st get dog interested in disc. Of course, you should start by purchasing a flying disk. Whatever kind that you get, bring it into the house and make sure that your dog sees you with it. Play with it a little bit and then put it away while your dog it watching you. Do not give it to the dog at this time. In a little while, get it out again and be very interested in it. Play with it and hide it again. Continue to do this until your dog is beside himself and can hardly wait to get his paws on it. Please remember that your dog w ill probably destroy the Frisbee if you let him play with it without supervision. Be very careful and don't let your dog eat pieces of the Frisbee.

The next step is to add the Frisbee to the retrieve. If you are using a hard Frisbee, you might want to start by rolling it on the ground. To get your dog to catch the Frisbee in the air, stand close to your dog with prized Frisbee in your hands. With your dog watching you, flip the Frisbee in the air (only a few feet in front of you toward your dog). Your dog should instinctively catch it. Big treats! Always praise your when he returns the Frisbee. Once your dog is catching the disc at close range, you can gradually increase the distance. Be sure to throw the disc high enough that your dog has a chance to catch it before it hits the ground. If your dog is having a hard time bringing it back, turn away and end the game. DO NOT chase your dog. This will often make the dog realize that play time is over if he/she will not give the frisbee back to you. Another method is to begin training using a two disc method.

try it out and enjoy the game.
