Hi all, Need some advice here. Well, Hazel's real dominant and gets aggressive towards dogs who don't "bow down". Today she met a GR...she didn't snap or anything.. yay~ guess the GR was ok with her being dominant. Anyway, any ideas on how to tone down the dominance? besides socializing her? or is that even a good idea? RealityDreamer I do handle a bunch of dogs b4, & from my pass experience i actually realise there will always be a leader as long as there is a group. this seems like their nature instinct. the leader will control the situation. I felt strange & start my reading. well according to a book a dog who stay at our home treated us as 1 of his/her member as well. thats y they bark when ppl go near our house, she is juz trying to protect us. Thus, as part of the member, u can choose to be a leader or a follower. A follower means u will juz take care of the dogs, feed the dogs, bath the dogs etc. Being a leader mean u r required to train the dog. make it a habit that whenever the dog needs u, ask her to plead u for something. this makes the dogs know u r the true leader. Never give chance to ur dog if he/she being dominant, u must be fierce & firm & scold him/her loudly NO!!! BAD DOG!!! & stop him. hope this will help a bit.. Yang Regards, Yang
