Where do you all normaly leave your dogs? Can't Post

Hi ,

I am curious to find out where does most of you keep your doggies when you are all out of town?

I usually leave Coco,Kiddo and Belle at a pet shop for boarding.

Many doggie cheers,

Have not meet Uncle Derrick before but his place sure sounds nice. Maybe next time when I know him first else he might not feel comfortable with someone he has not met before.

Frown...I always feel so sad leaving the dogs at boardings as they are kept in cages for so long and have to wee and poo poo in the cage. Poor things. I hate what I have to do. Eeerrggghhhh!!!!!

If I am rich and own a big land I will start a boarding home with large space for the dogs. Sigh !!!!!

I used to leave Kiddo and CoCo alone with lots of bowls of food and waters. They are so smart that they each eat a bowl of food a day. For example when I am away for 3 days I leave 4 bowls of food each. When I come back home there will only one bowl left untouched. I also ask my neighbour to keep an eye for them in case they get into trouble. I leave them in the compound (with shade).
But now I can't as my neighbour have shifted. Besides now the children in the street where I leave is very naughty. Yes VERY VERY x 100 Naughty as they throw stones at the dogs. I really 'tak boleh tahan' I even scold them. If I leave my dogs at home when I am away they might even come and poison the dogs.
As for Belle I definetly can't leave her in the compound as there are many dog nappers now a days.
Can't leave with relatives either, Most of them don't like dogs. My brother loves dogs but he already have 4 dogs of his own and my dogs don't get along with his dogs. Everytime I bring my dogs to his place the dogs will be barking madly at each other. So can't do that as I can't let the dogs bark the entire night as he has two small children that need to sleep.
FrownFrownFrown I only leave town when there is a need. Never been for long holidays as many (shall I say All) place can't accept dogs.

Many doggie cheers,

Cheng See

Hi Cheng See,

Jus wonder whether do you stay in KL or Shah Alam area cos the authorities at these area don't allow you to have more than 2 dogs.

Whenever I travel outstation, I'll bring my dog along. We can't leave her at home not even for a few hours. She is so attach to us that whenever we step out of the house, she will follow us. If we leave her alone in the house, she will bark non-stop and tear up the newspaper on the table. I guess everyone has 'manja' her tooo much (sigh...).

Thanks. You made me feel better already.
It is true we have not choice at times and the decision is for the best as leaving them alone will expose them to danger. Well I will start the count down the moment I leave them there till I return.

Many doggie cheers,

Cheng See

Re: [TohCS] Where do you all normaly leave your dogs? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello Cheng See

I understand your problem. I've been to see Derrick's place, he has plenty of room for spare dogs even though he has 8 of his own lovely, well-behaved dalmations. I think if I go away for a few days I would leave them with him, but he is having major surgery soon and won't be able to take care of dogs for a while. I hope things go well for him.

It's especially hard for people like me with no friends or family to ask for help. I used to always leave my dogs with family if I went away. I don't think I'd like the idea of leaving them with pet shop. My Emmy was bought from a pet shop and I swear most of her problems come from the trauma of being there (she had been in the shop for about 6 weeks when we bought her).

When I was in Australia people used to have dog walking, pet sitting and house sitting services. Once when I couldn't get family to care for my dogs I hired a dog walker to come every day to feed and walk my dogs. The dogs loved it soooo much, when I got back I still hired them to come and walk my dogs once a week. I wish there was a service like that here. I work full-time and now my daughter is at school the dogs are home alone in their crate for hours on end and I feel really bad for them.

Yes Ausranger, I love the idea of dog sitting.

I always wanted to do that but again I am limited by the space in my home. I have 3 dogs currently and am toying with that idea for sometime already.
Where do you stay? Perhaps we can chat via the phone to see how I can do this. I work from home . Call me 012-2584315 .

Many doggie cheers,

Cheng See

Re: [Ausranger] Where do you all normaly leave your dogs? [In reply to] Can't Post

I am very fortunate to be able to leave my dogs at my mom's. My parents and Kakak, their maid really love dogs so there is no problem. However, I am very embarassed because sometimes, Monty forgets his toilet training and goes in my parent's room. What to do?Unsure

I live in Sri Hartamas and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, I can walk dogs when I walk mine. I currently walk a Cocker Spaniel twice a week. It's good fun for my dogs too as it has helped to socialise Monty a lot. So, if you live in the area, call me on 012 331 3318 and I will try to include you dogs too.

When I have money, I am gonna build a lovely boarding kennels for dogs with a nice restaurant next to it.Sly
