Training Class Can't Post

Hello All,

After seeing the demo on the dogs obedience session, i had to send my lab for training as she really like Bull compare to the demo Dogs.

So anyone can tell me where to join a basic training class in K.L / N.S / Malacca but must be on Sunday loh

Thank You very much

Re: [vickylow] Training Class [In reply to] Can't Post

hi,

i roughly remember u mentioning that you're from malacca... is it going to be a problem for u to come all the way to KL every sunday, especially when it rains sometimes and classes get postponed last minute :/ ?

anyway, there will be 10 classes for a "semester", if u are already a member of MKA, RM 30 for class fees.

for directions to the place, do you know your way to Jalan Gasing, PJ? Padang merbok is next to the roundabout of the road leading to Jalan Gasing (the one with bird cages)... u can register yourself there (but not next week, no class next week!)

next intake will be starting soon, maybe 3 or 4 weeks later, so pls enroll earlier coz classes get full quickly :/

classes will commence at pdg merbok, u may register there, or go to Taman Tun Dr Ismail to mka office (call 03-77292027) for more enquires.

Re: [hunter] Training Class [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking of sending Abby to the obedience class after my exam ends next week. Here's what I want to ask :

~ Can I join the training class as a non-member? Meaning I only pay to go to the training classes.

~ I think my Abby is a Rott-Doberman-mix ( because of her unusually long legs ). Also, she doesn't have a birth certificate because my brother bought her from his friend's friend. I've been told that non-pure breeds have to pay more to attend the classes, is this true?

~ If I go to the office at TTDI and registered there ( for classes ), can I immediately enroll for the classes?

~ Can I even join the training classes as a non-member?

Thanks

~ Twenko

Re: [Twenko] Training Class [In reply to] Can't Post

you must register as a mka member in order to join the training class.

if you are under 18 the price is RM75 per year.

if above 18 the price is RM100.

the fees for the obedience class is RM100 for MKA registered dogs.

RM120 for non-pedigree.

you can download the forms from mka website.

SmileHow old is Abbie now?

The larger breeds go through their "teenage" period and just like some teenagers(esp guys) grow taller and then only start putting on the weight.

"I've been told that non-pure breeds have to pay more to attend the classes, is this true?"

No, it's not. The price only vaires for members and non-members. Regardless of pure or mixed breed dogs.

"If I go to the office at TTDI and registered there ( for classes ), can I immediately enroll for the classes? "

I don't think so. The classes they hv are for the first 100 dogs. So once there are 100 dogs, the stop taking in dogs. You'll hv to wait for the next intake.

And yes, you can join as a non-member. But it'll be more expensive.

hie

think it's 20 bucks extra if your dog happens to be mixed :/

u can immediately enroll for the classes, but you'll have to wait till this semester ends before your turn starts. the next semester is supposed to start at Jan. so if u wish to enter abby for the class, now is the right time to do so (class get full weeks before new semester start).

try calling up them up and they'll provide u with the details.

Hi Hunter Cool
Just wondering :
1. Is there an age limit for the dogs that we wanna bring for the training?
2. They do acept all size of dogs?
3. If not MKA member and dog have no cert also charge extra RM20?

to become a mka member is compulsory. and they just mentioned that if your dog is not mka registered then have to pay RM20 extra.

i think they do accept all size of dog. and if your dog is between 3 to 6 months old, you can enrol him/her in puppy kindergarten. if above 6 months then enrol in basic class.

1.no age limit :) however, if ur pup is below 6 months, do confirm if they have puppy kindergarten that semester. this semester there's no puppy kindergarten... hence i find that some young pups couldn't catch up in basic class :/

2. oh yes, from size S to XXXXL :D

3. think amanda has answered that :)

Hi Amanda,

Ladee is not seven months plus and she has had all three jabs...I am not too sure about the vomittingis any serious problem but she does every time we bring her to places where she gets to snoff around...e.g. parks and such...but she is really good in travelling ...when she was only eight weeks I brought her to Ipoh and she could endure the journey...as I said the vet mentiom that smaller dogs do tend to have smaller immunity as to compared to bigger doggs...but I hope she'll be able to fight this problem and be strong...I do take her out together with the big dogs for walks but have to put her in a buggy as I dun want her to sniff the ground..
