Hi, Andrew here. a friend asked me to introduce myself so here I am. I'm not really new, couple of months just that I haven't had the time to post messages. I've been following the threads here and there and I must say it's really organized and helpful so a big congratulations to the webmaster for such a comprehensive and helpful site. Anyway I have 3 dogs, two GSD and a dobermann. My male GSD is old...really old but still quite healthy, he's around 12 yrs old now, and my female GSD is 3 yrs old. My Dobermann just turned one last month, so he's still a pup and gets bullied by the other two. Well, looking forward to reading more stuff on this site and maybe participating in some of the activities.

hi phooisie, your nick is a real mouthful. Usually you have to be really diplomatic with both dogs so that they know they are treated eaqually, but usually the older dog will feel jealous and try to protect its territory, but I guess thats just natural. Give them time, they will get used to each other.

hi andrew.. wow you have all those big fierce dogs with you.. we kept 2 dobermans before....i think they're good dogs...just more protective of thier family..

hi kesuke, yup, I just love guard dogs... but I have been having problems with my dobermann. He's a really good dog, very good tempremant and all, sometimes can be a bit stubborn but overall, I love his character! The only problem is he has skin problems. I don't know if you encountered this with your two dobermanns... And I found out that the other coloured dobermanns are more prone to skin problems compared to the normal blck ones. mine is red so I'm not sure if this is true. I have read somewhere that the blue ones also develop skin problems later. SIGH it's quite traumaticto see his skin problems. But other than that he is a normal healthy dog, he loves to run and jump, I have never seen my GSD jump so high and all over the place somemore. Anyway got some remedies from the mange thread, so will try them out when I have the time. If you have come across any skin problems with your previous dogs, let me know if you managed to solve them. thanks.

Well,I love the working dogs (guard dogs too)..actually big dogs(most of them fr the working group) in general but I do like small doggies too.
I've got 2 working dogs.. 1 Dobermann named Hazel and 1 Bullmastiff named Tyson. Besides that, I also have a cocker spaniel mix terrier named Silky. Hazel's 1.5 yrs, Tyson 6mths and Silky's 4.5 yrs.
Hazel's facing some skin problems too. We actually adopted her...so she came to us from the previous owners with the skin problems. But they are getting better though

hi andrew actually i'm not sure if my previous dobermans had skin problem or not coz i was only in primary school and my mom and dad were taking care of them...sorry i couldn't help ya... i might consider getting a doberman later coz my dad loves guard dogs as well.... hopefully the info on the mange thread can help your dog...and hope your dog has a speedy recover..
