Can somebody please tell me where I can purchase a clicker (for doggie training purposes). I've visited numerous pet shops and/or veteranian clinics ... and none have them (some hasn't even heard of them).
Clicker training is useful for teaching your doggies with positive reinforcement (which means, no punishment required). And I'd very much to love to try using this method, because I'm quite certain that it'll be much more fun and exciting for the doggies and us.
You can try the - remember reading somewhere that MKA is introducing clicker training into their programme ...
Or check out the websites selling doggie products on the internet ... many have started stocking clickers (a little expensive though - everything in US$) ...
The site that comes to mind is Karen Pyror's site (who first pupularised clicker training for doggies) ... alternatively, just type "Dog Clicker" into the search engine ... and it will take you where you need ...
Hi there!! Actually the clicker is based on the child's toy. You know the small metal thingy with a stripe behind that makes a clicking sound whenever you pressed it.
You can use that too.

actually a clicker is simply a device that... umm... clicks.
thus, if u can't get hold of a real clicker, any thing that clicks would work. for ex, a pen, a computer mouse.... the difference is that those is not loud like the regular clicker. find something that clicks loudly.
a clicker from US will normally cost about RM 8 - 10
my cousin just gave me a dog chow/mini poodle/lab mix (very cute) but she was abussed by her boyfriend and her personality is that very much of a chow-chow very dominate. she was never trained and she is about 3yrs now. i tried using treats to train her but she wont respond and shes afraid of the clicker. any other ideas.
Looks like I'll be heading to USJ and D'Uptown later this evening. And *hopefully* I'll find a clicker. If not, I would most probably try with the alternatives Hunter suggested.
Thanks, again!

fajar sells all kind of weird stuff la...they even have bones section for the dogs....beside bones they have basic dog and cat food lor..pedigree,alpo and attaboy
I've finally bought my clickers (I bought TWO!). I managed to find at this petshop in Damansara Uptown. Can't exactly remember the name of the shop, but it's in the same row as Standard Chartered Bank.
So, if anybody is looking for a clicker, you can head straight there
And btw, clicker training is awesome! The doggie will pay more attention to you.

Guys this is most correct. A clicker is a clicker and as long as it clicks it works. Don't have to get those specially for dogs which usually is branding gimmick. One clicker I use is bought from a toy shop the ones that looks like a metal plate and goes kluck! kluck! when you press. The ones the kids play with. Only cost RM1 and serves the purpose. u just reminded me of my younger days when i used to play with those frog clicker thingy still see them around though... its really cheap too instead of getting those from petshop which i feel functioned the same way.
