HELP!! VERY3 SENSITIVE SKIN PROBLEM!! Can't Post

Dear All,

my Jamie again got skin problem, Unsurethis time she got almost all over her body (except tummy part only)red rachers & spots (big one got yellow colour inside), than when you scratch it off it will become a small hole!

i hv taken her to the vet yesterday she advise me to shave off the coat(whole body - like botak) bcoz, it is serious skin problem now! but she said it's not worse like mange. (luckly)!Unsure

she said my Jamie got sensitive skin so, hv to take omega oil and vitamins 4 long term! to avoid skin problem.

the vet gave her 1 jab (antiboitic) and 3 medicines (ithcy, antiboitic and wounds), and i vitamin called "zingcaderm". it cost me RM92 this time. and she advise me to shave off Jamie's coat now and bring her back to see the vet after 10 days time, see if it's got any improment! (the vet quote me RM80 for her to shave the coat!)Crazy

So, every member outhere what is ur advise ?especially Uncle Derrick kok & webmaster! cos, i scare after shaving Jamie will become botak and can get cold at night! (of course very ugly also! can u imagine a GSD w/o coat?)

thanks in advance!

I think I know what is wrong with your Jamie. I can certainly cure her skin problem with perhaps RM10. If you are interested call me and bring her over and I will solve your worries..
Regards.

Re: [Derrickok] HELP!! VERY3 SENSITIVE SKIN PROBLEM!! [In reply to] Can't Post

Dear Derrick

I have a mixed breed of terrier and dachund. He is now 4 months old. He has some serious skin problem which I hope you can help. He has this rashes with pus all over his body. I have him to the vet twice and he has given him some jabs and medicines. I do not know the name of the jab and medicine. After taking the jab and medicine he will recover. But once his medicine is finished, the rashes with pus will come back.

According to the doctor, his immune system is bad as he does not drink much of his mother's milk. He has advice me to give him omega 3 and vitamins. I notice that this does not help much.

I am realy at my wit's end and I hope you can really help me.

Thanks
Corryn

hi...derrick..u sound so confident in solving dog's skin problem..

are u a vet or just an experienced dog breeder??? becos i need some help...

my rottie aged 6 mths has severe skin problem...he always have rashes around the inner tight areas, all 4 legs...

and i think they must be itchy n my rottie must have scratched the rashes and they become very bloody with pus..

i took him to the vet where he got jab, antibiotics.....
but the rashes come back...

recently (last week) i took him again to the vet and was told that my rottie's immune system is not good n he is prone to be infected by mites...

wat should i do... i look at him, he looks so poor thing... btw my doggie is named stout...

can u help...wld very much appreciate it...thanks a lot... take care...

Re: [shaun_sia] HELP!! VERY3 SENSITIVE SKIN PROBLEM!! [In reply to] Can't Post

If mange or any skin parasites is suspected, treat with Ectodex or Tactic ( ask at Pharmacy )

After above treatment, if wounds are septic, treat with Fucidin Cream or ointment. Fucidin is a very effective antibiotic.

To exclude yeast and fungal infections, use Canestan or Nixoral cream. Generic will be cheaper.

Usually, parasites will cause the dog to scratch which causes the areas to become septic. So eliminate parasites first. Usually you will not need the antibiotics after the parasites are gone.

Follow instructions on the bottle.

Give your dog plenty of sunlight and excercise. Good fresh food and do not bath the dog with shampoo too often as it removes the protective oil . Just plain ole water !

wah...ur vet cost u a lot. anyway u can shave it by urself. last time my silky also had serious skin problem..then i shaved his coat by myself. my vet gave my dog antibiotic to control those red spots. malaseb shampoo also can help a bit but make sure u will give ur dog skin coat vitamin while using malaseb shampoo. then also make sure ur house is clean. give ur dog LAMB AND RICE dog food. i just gave my dog antibiotic, and now his skin is smooth. i can intro a vet for u if u wan. the clinic is based in puchong.

hope ur dog will recover soon..all the best to u.

You should be able to get everything from a pharmacy except maybe for the Ectodex or Taktic.

Ectodex and Taktic are insecticides which only specialist will keep eg. those pharmacies that have an animal/pet section. Do not use these insecticides on cats ! Follow instructions carefully.

Sorry, I'm in Penang.

Ask around especially pharmacies that have pet sections.

Worst case scenario, I can send you some !

Unlikely that vets and pet shops will sell as it takes their business away. A good breeder around you might know where to get it or sell you some. 30ml about Rm15 dilute 1:200 (Taktic) I think ! Will last a long time as continuous repeated treatment is not recommended. 2-3 times a year max.

The best place in penang is Farmasi Maxi Pro, Jalan Perak, opposite Padang Brown, near the Datuk Keramat traffic lights.(next to SONY sales).

I have bought from other pharmacies too, eg Howe Cheang, Penang road, Boon's also Penang road.
