I'm not sure abt the permit thing..maybe you can ask the user kaerb..i think he has a couple of pitbulls..maybe 4.
anyway, you can give MKA a call and ask for a list of breeders. or go to a dog show and talk to the ppl showing their pit bulls. or look in the star's classified ads.
I have read from a magazine and a book saying that Pit Bulls is under the Breeds of Dogs banned from importation and they are under control. I'm not sure if anyone is breeding them or not but chances are there won't be a lot. (I think)
Most of the time we say those who is selling the pit bull pups is mostly mix breed.

frankly, i am still new to this breed and still learning. yes. i do breed them. how to identify a pure pitbull? i don't think i know where to start. i think it's better for you to do some initial study on the breed standards [both physical and temperament] and view the dogs at some of the kennels online to get a rough idea of what to expect. this is because locally bred of this type has no cert/paper to proof. if you're really serious into it then maybe we can meet up to talk more about it.
Frankly, I have imported a pitbull pup and I am expecting to see her next month after week 8 of birth. The sire is UKC Ch and the dam has good temperament and physically sound. I might need your help to find me a great stud in the future!

Exactly, I was having the same thoughts... begining of this discussion, it was confirmed that importing is ban.... but somehow, he's expecting the pup soon... how is that possible??

Oh yeah... and I think one of the members here informed us that she has a friend in Johor breeding Pitbull as well... but you normally don't see much of this breed during shows...
unfortunately, I dun think there is any dog shows specificically for pitbulls...generally people here are not that receptive to the idea of seeing pitbull show, be it confirmation or competition. Doesn't really matter anyway. When people ask me what dog I have, I just say mixed breed, save me the hassle of trying to explain to them that pitbulls are not all that agressive like what the general opinion is right now.

i have seen pitbull pups from a breeder b4. That was about 2 years ago b4 i got my danes. That time ar...searching for doggies like crazy!! The breeder has a female pitbull. Not so impressive as those that I ve seen on the net from US.. but the breeder is selling them so expensive...abt Rm1.8k like that...without cert somemore.. very fierce u know..
one of my fav too b4 my brother persuaded me to get danes... :) coz I pay for them...heheheh

this breed is very rare here...
Remember? there was this ad on star selling the pitbull pups saying they are imported, and the sire is the champ?? The asking price was like more than RM2k something like that....I saw the sire on the net....and it is very beautiful....I think its name is Tiger...
