hmph, i've just checked. it seems even in higher level (Open level in obedience), you're allowed to use voice commands. or hand signals. but not BOTH. how interesting.

oh..didn't know that..
guess you going to use voice commands since hunter is already used to them?
i read somewhere that dogs read the physical cues better than they listen to commands..i think the article was in the star a week ago.. ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)

am using both voice and hand signals. reinforcement is key. i don't think he's ready for solely voice commands or solely hand signals just yet.
yeah, physical cues are better than listening to commands, but this apply more on dogs that pay full attention to u IE eye does not remove from ur eye for even a second. for dogs that are easily distracted and etc, it's better to use voice commands (or even combination and hand signals) as if they don't even look at u how are they gonna actually look at the hand signal you're tryin' to show :/

hehe..good point..there's no point in giving the hand signals if your dog doesn't have his eye on you
but hunter's good though..not going to try to "challenge" him? he probably knows all(if not, most) the commands already and can perfom perfectly ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)

bah. he is always distracted. would not want to confuse him for the time being. i even suspect he's deaf sometime as he often give me a blank look when i call him from afar :/

lol
he has a very short attention span.. he might find lil thingies on the floor more important than what his mom is trying to get him to do at them moment ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)

i think and it's i think the next batch is on september... not sure .. call up MKA and ask them ...
yeah dogs that are on heat are not allow to bring for training ... you won't want all the male dogs there running after you right ? praising is the same as food rewarding ... the dog is doing something to make you happy and they will be happy when u are happy !!
if the dog decided to it's business on the spot then u gotta pick it up ... that is why you have to bring a plastic bag everytime u go for training ...

hi,
next batch on 24th august? not true, not true. i think they still have at least another 3 more classes to go before graduation.
rewarding by food or not is personal preference, depends how u train ur dog at home. some ppl do reward the dog food there. and the class is only 1 hour long, not 2 hours. (2 sessions : 4-5pm class or 5-6pm class)
