Training a hyper dog? Can't Post

Just signed up for the Basic obedience class offered by MKA for my 5 month old JRT which will start next month. Anyway, my Joey is very hyper and get's really excited when other dogs are around. I wanted to sign her up for Puppy Kindergarten which is basically socialising with other dogs but the lady at MKA said it was not necessary.

So I am wondering if I am going to have problems with her during the classes. Would like to hear from others who've gone to these classes before.

Thanks & regards.

Let me guess....when she sees other dogs, she pulls and pulls on the lead, jumping up and down doing the funky chicken dance Wink You will hv to get used to it for awhile....your JRT will probably be the most hyper one in the class....so is mine....my first actual class will start this Sunday....since your class will only start next mth, if the trainer doesn't mind, you cud ask whether u can bring your Joey to the classes they are currently holding, just so your Joey can be surrounded by other dogs, let her get familiar with them.....that's what I did with mine....all JRTs are hyper....I went to the dog show on Sunday and there was one JRT showing and she was very frisky as well....before entering the ring I saw her pusing pusing around the handler's leg, entangling the lead heheh
