Your post is not offensive and your question is rightly asked. Most salons today rather exploits the means of cheap labour by employing unqualified foreigns maids to do their dirty jobs while keeping all profits for their own. The victim in the end is no other than the client(the dog involved). Most salons using foreign unqualified labours often has a cheaper grooming price than certified qualified proffesional groomers. A Certified groomer's higher price is justifiable on the fact that the groomer went through all the required certifications and examinations to ensure that they have the required skills and knowledge to properly care and groom a pet. An unqualified groomer would lack all knowledge a groomer has to possess, like sanitation, hygiene, safety, first aid, breed standard, topical therapy, etc etc. Without all these knowlege, disease passes among dogs so easily because most skin problems are extremely contagious if not taken extra precautionary steps to ensure good hygiene, sanitation and sterilization. A good knowledge of first aid is extremely important in handling livestock, especially someone else's love ones, as an accident or a heart attack can occur anytime anywhere anyplace, in which the knowledge of first aid can possibly safe lives if acted immediately. These are certain things unqualified groomers can never compete against certifed groomers. You would never choose an uncertified roadside doctor yourself for a couple of dollars cheaper, so why do so for your pet?
