Need assistance abt mix breed pups. Can't Post

My female dog had delivered 5 pups on 1/8/08. It's a cross with a Labrador. To our amazement, the pups - 3 male and 2 female had totally turn out to be very diff. colour from their dad/mom. All of them are dark brown - towards charcoal. Can this happen? Female dog is furry(mix - collie or spitz) is all white with a few patches of brown spots on it's back wherelse the lab (mix) is totally hazel/brown in colour. Both are actually strays but landed at my doorstep where we had took a pity on them.

Yes, it's possible due to possible recessive colour genes. Or perhaps the female mated to another male without your knowledge.
