hi everyone..need some adv...!!	Can't Post

I just bought a new 5 weeks old labrador fr a breeder...the things is this pups haven't got any shot of vac. yet or the microchips.The breeder told me to returned to his place after 6 weeks later for a shot, izzit safe now for me to take care of the pups at this moment...???
Please adv. Unimpressed

Hi,

The pup is still very young, its a baby at 5 weeks. And it doesnt have its shot yet, you better not bring it around other dogs as they might transfer diseases to the pup. Until the pup gets all the vaccination, then it is safe to bring them out. At this point, i think its best to let it stay at home.

Hi .

Thanks for ur adv as now i was just temp cage the pups up untill the day for the shots.i even dun dare to bath the pups.Izzit safe for my children to touch the pups at this moment or play around my house area?>

Hola, i think its better for u to bath it .Dirty pup lagi kotor, means easier got get decease lo. But after vaccin cannot bath ohh ( for 7 days ) Just my 2 cents =D

pups that are separated from their mum at this age will have high chance of developing behavior problems wen they grow up. breeder who allows you to take pups away from the mother at this age is an irresponsible breeder.

i kindda agreed the things that u say.Last week i bring my pups for 1st vaccines that they promise to give me a a free 1 and he told me that he is not able to give as he say he din't promise to do so.He just say that he promise to give the microchips to my dog only.I was so angry at that moment and i promise to myself that i would not buy any dog fr him again. Unsure

A real change of words. Real idiot fellow.. Anyway what you need to do to make sure your dog doesn't have behavior probs is to socialise with other dogs a lot. Cos she lacks of this and doesn't learn much from her siblings n mother. Where do you stay?

I stay in puchong, i realize nowdays my dog grows a lot, but my friends told me that my lab is too skinny and ask me to feed more.just right on yesterday my pups fully demolish my beautiful garden and it lead me no choice but to chain her up.Sometimes i pity with her cause her face looks sad.....wat should i do.... Crazy

at this age is growing age so can hardly get fat. Best to check with vet. Let me know if you need a recommendation as my vet is also in Puchong. Anyway your lab is bored that is why it is chewing. Try walking the dog 20minutes before sleep and 20minutes before you go out.

My friend told me that keep my dog in cage or within house compound area as my pups now only get the 1st jab, i had complete my 3rd jab in a year only save for me to bring my lab out for a walk...

My kids always give my lab all their toys for her to chew and play.....when i got home i was very surprise and speechless that all the toys that i bought were inside the cage ( the toy were preety expensive Unsure

) ....i think my lab were happy with tat....

which vet that u visit in puchong, mine is at puchong puteri.

Should not give kids toys to her. Kids toys has buttons, laces and many more that might choke her. My vet is at Bandar Puteri near the Haier warehouse.

Hi,

mine vet were opp haier factory too, izzit the vet doc name Dr edmund Yeoh?

It was introduce but 1 of the pet shop in Bandar Puteri called Paws n Claws.They love my Lab a lot cause they were LAB admirer.

yes le.. same vet we go to. i trust him a lot. I think the pet shop around that area also recommends him to their clients.

A piece of advise

TRAINING

Dear friend. Please do not chain dogs up or put them in cages. Dogs are cheerful and wonderful creatures that likes to run about, if you chain or cage them up, they will develop behavioral problems such as aggresiveness. Dogs have to be trained. At puppy stage, they're teeth are growing, so you should but lots of bone treats such as "Greenies" for it to bite on or they will start biting everything they see - shoes, clothes, toys, etc.

When you train them, you have to use two tones of voice - firm voice when you command and playful voice when you want to play with him/her. Your voice have to always stay the same tone everytime you command. Retrievers/Labrodors are VERY EASY to train. Just use the right method. It's going to grow big, so better train now or it will be hard for you the handle them when the grow bigger.

Please bare in mind that no matter what size the dog is, they act the same. However, when a Shit Szy jumps up to you, you think its cute. Bigger dogs think and acts the same, and its not cute, they might push you down or hurt you, so TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN!

FOOD TO FEED

Rertrivers/Labrodors (which I own as well) will encounter skin disease later when they age therefore, you have to always take care of their coat. Don't feed them ANY chicken or chicken flavored biscuits. ONLY feed them dog biscuits flavored Lamb & Rice...which is the best for their coats and prevent skin irritations. Also if you can find in pet shops, feed them pure cod liver oil for shiny coats and healthy skin.

Well, like you said, Lamb & Rice is prone for Retrievers and Labs. It really depends on your dog, if he/she is not allergic to lamb, I'm sure it is also good for their coat and skin. However, the best of all is definitely to feed them salmon biscuits - THE BEST....but ofcourse it is much more costly.
