Hot Spring Water	Can't Post

Hi all,

Was told by a relative from Perth, Australia that water from a Hot Spring is good for skin problems.

Any of our members tried this out?

We took our Shih Tzu, Xiao Mei to a hot spring near Ulu Yam at the foothills of Genting Highlands

this morning to try it out! The near boiling water

need at least 30 minutes to cool down a bit.

wow sounds like a lot of fun! saw ur photos too! did ur fren from Perth say how often should the dog with skin prob be bathed with hot spring water?

Thanks for your visit.

Yup, he did mentioned that it should be done weekly if your furkid have existing problems

If not, then monthly if possible. We are planning to do this monthly as it is also good for

us too

.

Just got a reply too, from a friend who's Pug have problems especially around the neck

.

I think it is ok to get a 4gallon container to bring some 'water' back and use it every 3 days

.

hmmm, wat a coincidence... my pug also suffers problem around her neck n chest... sometimes red n she would scratch till bleed... Frown

is this ulu yam place open for public? no problem taking a dog there?

Hi again ai_ney,

Yup, it is a public place. Yesterday was a public holiday so there were many visitors.

What we did was to collect the spring water in pails to our parked car, further away, and bathe

our kid in a baby bath tub. I think it is ok. A Malay gentleman even came over to see what we were doing

and were quite amused

. He was wondering it our furkid could take the 'heat'

!

We got to 'tarik' the water like crazy

.

I do not advise anyone to bring their furkids by the dozen and jump into the pool

. We have got to respect

this place as many others are also using this facility

.

Go there between 10am till 11.30. I believe that many travellers only come over after lunch!

I think weekdays are quieter. But always remember to pick up after your dog like we did.

with all the chemical and polution in the sea now, any virus or bacteria will die lol
