I've actually signed up as a member for some months now and have been following several threads. I was very keen on adopting a puppy but ended up getting a beagle puppy instead. I've named her Ozzy, after my childhood rock hero Ozzy Osbourne (yes I know it's rather weird to name a girl Ozzy!).
I have prior experience with dogs many years ago when we had a GSD, but that was really a long time ago. Right now, still adapting to caring for Ozzy, which has been very fun, though at times can be frustrating. Until now, I still have the urge to adopt to find a mate for Ozzy.
