Min Pin Leg Problem

Hi
Is kind of sudden, the day before he is still doing good, then the next day, suddenly he cannot walk properly, the back leg seem to hits by car or something, he cried pain even one little ball hit the back leg, he seem very sick and don't want to eat and drink, bring him to see vet, vet said hit by car, but he never go out, how to hit by car..call spca, they advice if leg problem, put him sleep..bad!!
i just wonder if anyone encounter this problem before, it is a cancer? he is almost 6 years old now, how long can min pin survive? 10 years?
he is not the very small size min pin, his size is about 15" lenght, heigth is about 11". got him from SPCA years back..
I am not convince with the vet, just give him medication..but cannot give me more strong points of the problem..
