Just dropping in to say Hi Can't Post

Hello Fellow Dog Lovers,

My 14yr old mongrel Becky died about 5 yrs ago, since I will be working from home soon (will have lots of time) thought of getting a dog. Set my sights on another mongrel in the Penang SPCA. Hopefully she will be ready for adoption this week.

Best Regards

Hew

Candy is fine, she bites alot, I think it has something to do with the teething problem but it hurts sometimes because her little teeth are razor sharp. Hopefully she will grow out of it soon. The missus is complaining about the smell, but manage to fix that with anti-smell tablets.

sometimes can be due to food.. certain brands can cause the BO. After she changes teeth she should be fine..

awww she's really cute and that's a lovely photograph.

Try changing her dog food, it really does affect the smell.

She will not take anything except rice and cooked chicken, I am trying to change her died to dried dog food but she just wouldn't take them. Is it OK to stay with rice and chicken?

Hee hee... apart from being cute, she's one smart doggie... If she can get homecooked food, why eat the dry kibble?? Tongue

My dogs know, if dun eat kibble, will starve. So if dun like starving, eat the kibble!! Frown

Hello Mum2Jude,

Finally she is taking the dry kibble, so currently it is dry kibble in the morning before I go to work and cooked food for dinner.

Re: [acsyen] Just dropping in to say Hi [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey Yen,

I just adopted a 1 year old cream color golden retreiver today. She is very well behave, any tips on how to introduce her to my "sakai" mongrel. Currently my mongrel is at the back yard and the retreiver is at the front porch. They can only smell each other but cannot see each other. I intent to keep both dog in the back yard. I was told to tie them up and let them have a staring match, once they are settle, only then remove the chain, will that work? My female mongrel is very dominant.

Hello, glad to hear that you have got a new addition to the family. For sure soon your new dog will learn some bad habits from the older dog.. Hehe.. Anyway staring game should be fine and also letting them sniff each other. As long as both are not dominant should not be giving much problems. You can also try to let them meet on neutral grounds like in a park or so. Do keep the collar and leash on when introducing in case you need to separate out fights. Do update me on the progress ya.

Re: [acsyen] Just dropping in to say Hi [In reply to] Can't Post

Just came back from the vet, as expected Shasa (formerly Sa Sa) has a list of problems, confirm ones (canine ringworm, canine malassaezia, canine ear mites, back muscle athrophy) not confirm (HD, and canine atopic dermatitis, hip problem). Will probably take 6 months to a year before full recovery. I have started her on synoquin 4 tablets daily. Some other supplement and daily ear washing. I was reluctant to take her in hearing of her condition, but when the family saw her, we could not resist but to take her home. I won't be mixing the dogs so soon.
