hi all!!

i victor from Muar,

me and my gf are looking for a shih tzu to adopt,

but seem like in our this area seldom dog lover like us that so love puppy.

we even help friends take care of they shih tzu for a few month when they was away overseas,

and foud out that we in love with shih tzu,but for me and my gf still can't afford to buy a new shih tzu,

cause is tooo costy in this area,

so if anyone have a shih tzu or 2 please let me know 012-6229422

if need to fetch them myself how far we think we also can go to fetch it back to my home..

Maintaining a shih tzu is as costly as buying one. How do you maintain if you find it costly to buy one? If it's too costly in your area and you are willling to drive down to a far place. Why dun you get it from an area which is cheaper? Well hope you consider all the factors before getting a dog. There are shih tzus to adopt from time to time due to the reason that most owners cannot afford to keep it anymore. So hope you consider your decision properly.

Dear Victor,

BUYING the shih tzu is a fraction of the cost of maintaining it. This breed is quite high maintainance. If cannot afford to buy one, please consider another breed. You would not believe how much the cost can come up to.

Why do you think there are so many shih tzus up for adoption compared to other breeds. Sometimes, its because owners do not want to spend the money and their shih tzus develop serious problems (like go blind or eye pop out of socket) They are not exactly hardy breed and if your concern is lack of $$, do yourself a favour....and get something you can afford to look after.

Dear Yen & Robros,

Really salute you guys can still be so patient explain the same thing again and again. I realized there are too many people asking for a pedigree for free for same reason (can't afford to buy but love the pedigree a lot). I feel tired to explain and educate these people.

Notice or not, when people see there is a free pedigree for adoption, they just quickly write and ask for it, regardless the thread was 1 or 2 years old..........or funnier, owner has already annouced the dog has been adopted but they still write to ask (like Mei's beagle case)....

thanks for your all advice,actually i used to have a wolf pack kind dog but already pass away cause of old age, and i already seeking advice from many this kind breed owner about the habitat of this breed.

For another reason was finding this breed is cause of the kind face in it type

i finding one mainly is for some reason :-

My bro meet an accident at Oct last years and after he pass away my mom haven't been smile sincethen, until that day my friends bring his shih tzu to visit us at last i see my mom smile again.

taking care of this breed is still in my hold,i still afford all it,but when i want to use money to buy 1 my mom won't happy with it cause she will think i wasting my money again for my interested stuff.

But mainly reason just to make my mom happy again and regain her smile back.that what i can do for her and maybe for my late brother too.. shih tzu was his fav breed too.

its sad news to know about the passing of ur brother.... however, if u think that you are capable of taking care of it as well as maintain it, then thats fair enough.

However, maybe you could try to borrow some of the dogs yen or other rescuers are fostering and bring it back see the reaction of ur mom... some of the mix-breeds and mongrels (small sized ones) makes good companions too... and they are also easier to maintain.

Sorry to learn about the demice of your brother.

Anyway, we gave our comments based on the fact you frist gave us: can't afford to buy.

If you think you can afford and have the time to take care of it looking at Shih Tzu's high maintenance needs, it's fair enough to go ahead.

In fact I agree with what KhengTeck said, maybe you should try other breed/mix breed with lower maintenance cost to see if your mom like it. I myself have my own criterias when come to choosing a dog, e.g. short coat, medium-big size, energetic........... But I adopted 2 dogs which are long coat, small size, and not so energetic. The Shih Tzu mixed I have right now, I was helping my neighbour to get her rehomed. After keeping her for few days for medical treatment before passing to someone, she won my heart and I've decided to keep her. I thought I will never keep a long coat dog but you never know. Dogs are like angels..........they win your heart regardless what breed they are...

Do you guys got any kind info about others kind breed?

actually i not so pro in this breed stuff only know some of the kind only,

But word that you guys say was agree by me > Dog < a heaven named pet that can make man kind happy for some how.

each time i see some puppy and doggie my heart feel happyand can't help my eyes staring at it again and again.

so how you guys got some others kind of info that can let me know about it.

i think for the time being, the best is you get a book on dogs... u can get those general dog books in any bookstore... or u can even search about dogs online... there are alot of books and sites that will give u a better understanding of dogs in general... once u have gone thru those, then only decide if u want a dog or not and what breed u want... if u have any particular breed in mind, then search about that breed online or u can get books on that particular breed... apart from that, there are also alot of groups in yahoo and such apart from PP.com that u can get more information. If u have any questions, feel free to ask... i'm sure that everyone here are willing to help u....

Anyways, get some books on general dogkeeping... and go thru them... there are alot of things such as health, grooming, behavior, etc etc that needs to be understood.
