diarrhea with blood...... Can't Post

Hi,

My doberman puppy is just 2 months old.I made a immediete change to
Raw Food once I brought her in 3days ago.
Last 2days she has been pooping well.As of today....she did not pop
until like very very late and its very watery.I also noticed that
its hard for her to poop.Whenever she tries, there seem to be some
blood and watery liquid discharged.I' m worried if the change is
causing all this.

I feed her with chicken breast. She dont seem to chew them but tend
to gobble them down.Could this be the cause?

She had 4 diarrhea over the last 7 hrs.I'm taking her to the vet.

If anyone could futher advice,I apprieciate it

Hi,

I've heard of raw meat diets.. but personally i didnt think it's wise to feed raw meat to the puppy Crazy

the meat may be contaminated with bacteria & parasites. it could be cause of bloody stools and diarrhea. Furthermore, the pup's immune system may not be strong enough, and sudden change may also upset the digestive system...

try cooking the meet in plain water and you may also cut it into smaller chunks.

But, if you would like to stick to raw meat diet, Do make sure that it is free from contamination, fresh and from suitable species. Products from the market should be well sealed. Feed the puppy with carefully choosen foods to ensure it has balanced nutrition.

Pray that your pup is ok..

Guys,

She is doing ok.Vet say its normal diarrhea. Most probably,chewed/ate on something that was contaminated.
He asked me to skip her lunch and give her dinner and the dinner is not dog food. Some chicken with rice will be fine.

She is tired and have been sleeping all day.Trying to get her to drink more water......

Happy to hear that =)

But did you tell the vet her diarrhea got blood?

Hope she'll recover fast. Dont worry.

You can actually give her a can of 100 plus. but leave the can open for a while before feeding to remove all the gases. this can replenish some of the electrolites lost.

Yes.I stressed to the doctor that there is blood on every attempt she made.
He checked and confirmed that this is not any virus related.

Thanks for the 100plus tip.Shall get her some to drink.Poor girl she look so weak.

In that case, it's best to follow the vet's advice .
she will recover. Observe for a few days see how lo...

Welcome on that tip. A vet taught me that, give 100 plus to mother dogs after they have delivered the pups

Yup, I even keep some for myself too
whenever i'm having the same problem or feel light headed
it can also serve as an energy boost since it contains sugar

do they sell liquid form of ORS that can drink on the spot?
preferably not carbonated

I dun think they have ors liquid version that is non carbonated.

100 plus n isoplus is probably ur best bet. If u dun feel comfortable with the gas, u can always shake the bottle hard b4 u open it. but do open slowly if not ..... tsunami

hahah..tsunami

what i do is that i leave the can open for a while.
There's a market in selling non carbonated isotonic drinks you know, or maybe just any rehydration salt in liquid form..
Not only humans, animals can drink as well.. hmm..

Hey,

She have stopped having diarrhea. But haven't had a poop since she had the med.
The vet asked to give for 3days.Today is the 2nd day.I'm worried that the med might stop her form pooping...then I might have constipation issue.....She is very active(you know dobermans) compared to yesterday.Sleeps alot.Started to drink water....but need me to hand feed her 1st.

Is pumpkin good to solve this diarrhea/contipation problem?Anyone has any idea?

Hoping to hear from you guys.
