I am moving to USA by end of this year and I would like to bring my dog with me to San Francisco , is there anyone know how long is the quarantine period in USA? what kind of requirements they need? any certificates should i prepare? How much will cost me ? Appreciate it if anyone can let me know as soon as possible.

Last year when I asked the officers in LA, they said as long as u have all the required documents and can proof the vaccination status are up to date, then u wont need quarantine. However, if u need quarantine, then u can choose where u wan ur dog to be in. Quarantine period should be about a few days to a week but they said it's rare as long as you can proof that ur dog is perfectly well physically and mentally. Then again, I do not know if different states have got different rulings or not like their traffic laws. Hahahahah so u gotta check with the state government dept.
However I remember among the list of documents needed, they need a rabbies vaccination certificate which I do not know how to get here in Malaysia. Some vets I've asked say they do provide rabbies vaccination but they do not have the certificate. But my dog which I brought back from US have got a separate rabbies vaccination certificate as compared to the other vaccination that he has taken there together with a metal dog tag that says he has taken his rabbies vaccination. So I do not know if it's acceptable to just have our vet write on the normal vaccination certificate or they really want the special rabbies cert. That's quite confusing.
I would think it will be much easier to get our pets into US than getting them here. Then again I could be wrong. Anyway, if u got extra cash to spare, just get some of these companies specialising in exporting pets to do it for u. Save u the hassle.
If not, then find out for the local state govn dept and get their hotline. Call them up and enquire about it. I'm sure they will be willing to help u out.
