My puppies stomach seems to be inflated, and if tapped it sounds hollow. He gags and coughs but nothing comes out but he is in pain since he is not his usual overactive self. Dont know if she swalowed something she shouldnt or if its allergic. If anybody has had a simialr experience please let me know asap.

Have you dewormed your puppies yet? Worms maybe one of the cause. Give them the liquid or the paste type of dewormer and see how it goes.Cool

Hi, Mr Derrick,

Oh..tell me abt it. There were couple of times where my dane's stomach makes hell lot of noise, like so hungry or sth crawling inside the stomach. I gave her deworming pills (those 6 bucks each one), but nothing in the poo poo. However, the sound stopped. Wonder if is anything wrong?

And one more thing, how come my basset is so fat??? She didnt eat much...but still fat. We thought maybe coz the stomach got worms or whatsoever....same thing, we gave her the pills... but then, aint worms in the poo! ....funny!Wink

Afterall, the two are healthy anyway. Angelic

I like your Tristan...so handsome, a cutie pie indeed.

Cheers.Smile

Hi Derrick, Smile

I was just wondering...how often must we deworm our puppy actually? I read in some other posts some members here do deworm their dogs pretty often.

So far Sparkle has only been dewormed twice and both also during his vaccination. I didn't think I needed to do it myself cause the vet didn't ask me to. HOwever, if need be, I'll have to start deworming Sparkle on my own now. Even for my first dog Richie, he was only dewormed each time he went for vaccination.... which was once a year! Crazy

Hope you can shed some light on this. Thanks ya!

Re: [cshellz] Help with puppy inflated stomach [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Michelle,
I deworm my pups at 2 wks, 4 wks, then before the 1st jab between 6-8 wks, 2nd jab between 10-12 wks,3rd jab between 14-16 wks and thereafter every 3 months.
Since ur sparkle is dewormed by the vet during the jabs it saves u the trouble of doing it. So you need only to keep track of the 3 monthly deworming ritual after he has finish his primary vaccination.
Hope that helpsCool

CoolElly, thanks for your kind comment on Tristran and next time no need formalities ie 'Mr'.

As for the pot belly,it could be other things besides worms like bloat, or kaki botolCool

Hi Liang Moi, Michelle

For the past 5 days, Adrian was in Nagoya. So no one drive me to go to get their dogfood. Out of no choice, I have to cook for them. I do it once or twice only in a month. They always love it and can gain weight real fast, especially Lady, the dane.

I cook the rice with chopped red carrots, potatoes and garlic. Dump everything in the rice cooker. Boil the chicken neck. Mix everything with a can of Pedigree canned food. I tell u.....they "gasak" the whole pot finish man!Laugh...if drink water, the stomach sure pecah one...kekekekekek. They even have problems lying down on their side because of their bloated stomachs. So I think that's where the "Kaki Botol" from lah...kekekekSly

Cheers.
