u can start basic trainin at home anytime...by the 3rd jab u can register it for external trainin ade
I already started to train him at home for some basic obedience like sit, shake hand, turn & jump over. I normally used to hold treats on my finger while doing the training. But one of my friend told me that my method is incorrect. This is because my pup is looking at the treats to do trick but not my hand instruction. I tried to change my training style last night but my pup seem to be excited & not listening Not sure the changing style he don't buy it or he is too full with energy. Izzit too late to change now

hi,
initially when u start to train, u hv to hold treat in your hand and let your dog sees it. n at the same time, do the hand instruction. u hv to lure your dog to the correct position using the treat.
after doing it for a few times, then only u hide the treat n only use hand instruction. your dog will learn that by obeying the hand instruction, he will get the treat...
so, i don think your method of training is wrong....
keep the training short n fun...don confuse your dogs with too many stuff initially...
has your dog learn the basic obedience d? mostly during the external training session, they will still teach u the same thing. so if u already know how, then don really need to go for the basic obedience class d...but it's up to individual lo....no harm attending such classes for some experiences and knowledge oso la....

is not incorrect...as long as u achieve wat u wanted, then is correct....
trainers dun recommend too much of food luring becoz ur dog might get too dependent of treats...hence, when is time for competition, whereby owners r not allowed to carry treats, d dog might fail to deliver....
but for pet dogs....as long as u can make him do wat u wan.....any method will do.....be it toys or food...
n if u intend to change.....is never too late, u juz need more time n patience....happy training~

Thanks for the advice.
Well. I already teach him the basic obedience like sit, jump, turn, shake hand.. I slowly add in a new trick like one 1-2 weeks so that wont confuse him. I think sit and shake hand he still willing to do without seeing the food. But sometime he gots too excited with the food till she keep barking and chasing at the food.
The external training only have basic obedience? Or got more than that?

Some of friends come to my house before, my fur kid becomes so excited and bitting their toe as welcome them. Haha... But.. which I dont encourage him to do that. There was only one time I bring outside yam cha. My god... He was so excited with the tea on the table and the things surarounding him. Macam lost control nia... As for other dog, he seem not so close with other dogs. He is very small breed puppy now... other dogs seem like giant to him for my thought which scare him off...

Since your dog still very young. After all Jab, your main thing is to socialise your pup with strangers & other dogs. Bring her out more often and expose her more.
When in come to OB train your pup. Master one command then only go for second command. Never teach many command to the pup as it will not absord it & also MAX 5min training in a day!!!
Hide your treat in your hand but don't let her eat. Just let her know that inside your hand have treat. After finish each excersize must end in giving treat or play!!!

Mickey jump up try to catch his toy and slip then head hit the ground. I rushed him the Vet which right opposite of my house. The assistant there tell me that there is nothing much they can do. This is so unacceptable for me as he dint do a thing or even checking but just looking only. I am not sure whether is correct or not. Mickey die in my arms which I cant forget. It is so hurt....

He dint jump high.. is like within his reaching limit height. I think he slip and hurt his head He dint bleed, just dint move. I bought him to the Vet in Jelutong there. The worker say based on his experience my puppy cannot be saved. Feeling so hard by seeing him die in front of my eyes while I cant get any help for him...
~My beloved Mickey~ May you live happily in Heaven with care of God's hand.
