Teaching baby to toilet... Can't Post

My pup is nearly 2mths old. Is she too young to be taught where to pee and poo?

And what are the best ways to teach her where to toilet at her age (as theyre still babies and not that smart...) I want her to do her business in the bathroom where Mimi does hers.

Hi, 2 months is old enough,

What I did with my dogs when I wanted to house train them to pee / poo in toilet. *this will take some time on your part which you must allocate for it to work*

1. After the pup eats or drinks bring it right away to the toilet to do its business, wait for it to do its business.

2. Usually they will after awhile because at this age they cannot hold thier poo or pee long.

3. After pee and poo better if on paper first then on the floor because if you wash with soap the scent will disappear while paper it will be there longer. * personally I always put paper*

4. Dun throw paper with pee, throw poo or course, so when doggie wants to pee and poo tell it go toilet then bring it there after a few repetition it will know that this place is too pee and poo, DO NOT LOCK IT INSIDE! as the dog will think you are punishing him and will not do it in there anymore!

5. ALways pat your dog, once it does it business

SIMPLE AS THAT! worked for me with all my dogs. After a few weeks or sometime days your dog will remember this for life.

Hope this help.Cool

Re: [mutt] Teaching baby to toilet... [In reply to] Can't Post

thank you mutt :D u seem to be very experienced lol!

well i did observe coco after she eats and when she wakes up. sometimes when i take her to the bathroom and tell her to pee/poo there, she just walks around, smell the floor.. then come back out...and doesnt pee/poo there.

and sometimes she will poo/pee in the bathroom without me seeing, or bringing her there...
