My family have been planning to get a dog for a while, and we have been waiting for a breed witch have now taken place. Our plan is to get labrador puppy.
But out of the breed came only one puppy, black male puppy.
So my question is, are there any problems related to the puppy being only one and should I still wait for another breed to choose the new family member?
"It is important that the puppy receive regular positive socialisation with other dogs and humans during the first sensitive period (eight to twelve weeks). Puppies should be exposed to as wide a variety of friendly people and dogs as possible during this period. Dogs that do not receive adequate socialization during the first sensitive period may display fearful behaviour around humans or dogs as adults. Males tend to be more hyper active when they are young." ( From Wikipedia.org )
if it's your first time having a puppy, i think you should take care of one pup at a time first. you wouldnt know what to do if you have more pups around the house. If you can cope with one puppy, you can maybe have another but it depends if your family want another one
u need not worry abt socialization, as long as the pup stays with the dam for the full 8weeks...anythin the pup needs to know to face the world, mommy will teach...
