Hi Chrisong,
I did go yesterday for a short while. But not sure which one is you and your doggies so didn't say hi. I saw only 3-4 silky in one group. And mostly girls/women there, so didn't ask them where are you.
I realised that the show had more GR, GSD, and Rottie contestants than the rest of the breeds, was it normal in every venue? Other breeds only have 2-4 contestant in each category, very disappointing. Why other breeds no longer active in the showring anymore, eg. English Cocker, Collie etc?

When there is no market demand breeder are not interested in breed & show that particular breed. As you can see about 90% show participants are dog breeder.

Congratulations on your Amber in winning the latest show again!
Only 10% dog owner participate huh? Like that very hard to keep the enthusiasm up, and encouraging new comers to join lor...because the atmosphere not really sporting and friendly, more like a battle field instead.

Yup, you are right the environment there not friendly at all. No sportmanship from certain participants. I think this is how most Malaysian people attitude "Kiasu". I think I going to offence alot of people here. But who care, I just telling the truth.
My wife always discourage me going for dog show. Cause she don't like the environment there. For me, I don't care I come here for show not to entertain the people why I bother about their comment on my dogs. One of the comment I receive on that day of the show "you are lucky to win cause the handler is amature"!!!
Enough about the dog show come to the environment.
Toilet condition is worst place!!! Yuck!!! Since KL show will be held in this venue, MKA should maintain the toilet. This problem is not just happen yesterday its been a problem since MKA taken over the venue and they did nothing about it. What will you think the oversea judges react when they walk into a wet, clog and flooding shit in the toilet!!! Shame
Hope MKA see my comments here.
Sorry for all this. I just want to let go the frustration that it.

That will be good! You must have been a veteran in shows. How long have you been showing? Is there anywhere that I am able to learn show handling and all those grooming?

Coming 7 years in showring.
I learn it from a veteran show breeder (retired) & also a old timer show groomer at petshop. Lucky me that they willing to teach me
Don't know where you can learn show handling as I know MKA don;t have show handling class. As for grooming I have no idea which one is good somemore is not cheap to enroll into a grooming course.

Ya lor...grooming course is not widely available. I saw one petfamily's ad, they do provide 5 months part-time grooming course, but too far for me to attend, it is at Tmn Megah. I'm in Cheras, and working in Cyberjaya, if wanted to take part time course, rush up north would be quite impossible with the crazy traffic jam.
I'm still considering whether I should sacrify my time for this course or not, this will definitely be a value added skill and would save me a lot of grooming cost for my ACS then.

The next dog show will be held on April 2007 at Ipoh. Date & venue not yet confirm.
I will post it up here once I got the information on the dog show & also last week show result.

They not yet finalise the venue yet. Usually, it held at Jalan Siamee Red Cresent Hall.
For the date they already confirm the on 29th April 2007.
