The entry forms for the above show is out.

Date : 8.6.2003
Venue : Han Chiang High School, Penang
Time : 9.00 am

Judges : Dr.Jose Mendiola (Philippines)
Mr. Thana Achariyawan ( Thailand)

Closing Date : 21.5.03 ( normal fees)
26.5.03 ( Late entry fees)

#No obedience trial again Unsure

Hi all,
I think a few of us will be going for the above show as participants. I would like to suggest that forum members have a get together the night before the show. Maybe have a seafood dinner with Penang members. It would be a great opportunity to meet them.
What say u, those not participating in the show are most welcome to join in too, treat it as a holiday in Penang.
I need recommendations or suggestion for accomodation for my family and doggies too.

Yes, i should think that will be a fine idea. We can go makan alot of food. If you guys prefer seafood, then we can bring u there too...=)

You mean that, for this time, MKA did not arrange some accomadation for those who are coming from outstation?

(planning to go down to Penang in June 1st 2 weeks anyway)

Btw, I can ask around for you as Terry knows some friends who rent out their apartment to people for holiday use. Let me ask him tomorrow and get back to you on this.

sound like a great idea, need any help do let us know. mayb we can rent a landed bunglow so that all the big n smal breed can go in, some where beside the beach nice ler....? will join u all at the beach or mayb just stop by at the dog show a while, u know la i feel boring every time see the dog owner bring the dog make a round, touch touch by a judge n walk walk around n take a bag of dog food n go home.... boring ler..... hehe.....

Pls help Derrick to look around for the bungalow and check out the price too... Who knows if a whole gang is coming then it would be really great !

As for the show & beach, I'll definitely join lar...no worries just need your help in terms of transportation Smile

Where will u be staying in Penang? I use to stay in Aurora Court Apt. whenever we have shows in Penang as they allow 1 or 2 small dogs in the apt.
but I think staying in a bungalow near the sea side for a change will be nice Wink

will all of ya'll be going down the night before? derrick.....how much does Aurora Court Apartment cost per night's stay?You were saying seaside.....did u mean feringghi? I thought of driving down early in the morning but im still looking at other options.

Does anyone have a map to the school? I would be totally hopeless in Penang without a map.

I seldom stay in Hotel whenever I am in Penang as I am also originated from Penang state. I will most likely stay in our old house in Penang. Will definitely great to have seafood together.

Hi, are u showing ur dogs? Aurora Court Apt.is at Jln Perak off Jln Burmah. The last time I paid abt 120 for an apt with one room and a living hall. Its cheaper if u go for just the 1 room type.
Yup. I hope sumthing can be arranged b4 the show.

Hi,

I am Jonathan.I just joined the list and show beagles.

I will be going to the show in Penang and have enquired accomodation rates.
Argora has 2 room appts available for RM 160 and I have also spoken to Vistana Appts.They will allow dogs in the appts and will reserve one floor for participants.They quote RM 150 for 2 room appts.

Hi Jonathan,

Thks for sharing the info. I've stayed at the Vistana before. Nice place. There's a very convienant lift at the apartment block that takes you right to the apartments together with the doggies... However, dunno if it's far from the show venue. Maybe the PEN folks can help here...

You guys remember the SARS thingy in penang ? Well, one of the guest in quarantine was staying in vistana. (I hope there is only one vistana there) and this was told to me by Terry.

Btw Derrick, when are you going down and how long do you plan to stay there ? I will update you again soon !

Ming Yang, I will only spend one night in Penang. Arrive 1 day before the show, jalan jalan and makan makan. Leave immediately after the show on sunday. Crazy

Kanch, I dont have map to Hanchiang but I know as u travel from the Png bridge to the city centre u pass by the school which is on ur left. Maybe some Penang members can help u with this. Unsure

i just stay near vistana hotel.... need any help, b free 2 ask... try my best to help.... and i am drawing the map for u all now.... from Vistana to Han Jiang School. post mayb tomolo, vistana hotel to han jiang may take u around 15 minute. the road is just as easy GO STRAIGHT (6km), TURN LEFT, GO STRAIGHT (3km), make U TURN, Turn left, and U r at hanjiang la...... easy ler.....

Here is the Map (Vistana Hotel to Han Jiang School). Anything, u may contact me at erickong22@hotmail.com

for those who travel straight from the penang bridge, after the bridge, keep to the RIGHT, follow the AYER ITAM signboard. it will bring u to the Jalan Masjid negeri and u will find the fly-over leading u to Han Jiang as shown in my map.

Hope this MAP help.... n hope to meet u all, still under planning as i might b going out from malaysia, not sure yet, let u all know later.

Hie all,

I will suggest you guys to take Aurora Court. True, Vistane has been sealed off due to the sars thingie but now they had reopen it except for the floor that the victim had stayed in.

Another thing is Vistana will be a lil wee too far away from Han Chiang.

For those that know where Greenlane McDonals is, Han Chiang is near there. Or should i say next to Penang Frees School...
