yeah. sensitive question.

it really depends on ur aim...

to me, MKA and puppy.com is d same. they both provide basic obedience training. eg. sit, heel, stand, stay.. unless u proceed to a higher level, like utility or open, which requires the dog to perform scenting/retrieving and jumping thru obstacles

n now d growing sport is agility and schutzhund...

but i think u r more interested in Dog Show training, right?

oh really?! u r into OB...

as for me, tricks and agility come 1st. n my dog is juz a part timer in OB.

i think this issue is similar to an educational school where kids studying.

every school will hv both good teacher and 'not-so-good' teacher.

so is best to choose d one that's nearer to ur residential area...

no point travelling so far away, coz nowadays petrol is expensive.

really?

but u gotta check out how many classes and d duration that they r offering...

coz MKA charge RM100 for 10 lesson but u gotta sign up as MKa member, which also cost u another sum of money....

while pp.com RM150 for 10 lesson, but their membership fees is cheaper than MKA.... juz RM50..

Re: [megan's diamond] which trainin is better? [In reply to] Can't Post

every1 will hv their dream. when i had my 1st dog, i dream to compete in OB Trial, but i did some mistake when training her up, so she ended up hating d routine n not interested in performing at all. so now i had my 2nd dog, i'll make sure everything i do is right.

if u juz wanna hv an obedient dog n not aiming to compete in Ob Trial, then a beginner 10 lesson is enough to teach u how to handle/train ur megan.

ya, i luv tricks n my dog prefer that rather to OB ofcoz, becoz tricks n agility can get her to jump and run, while OB need more patient. whenever she stay, she looks so eager to dash forward.

while everynite i trained her, i myself feel bored to practice OB. so usually juz practice 4 time per week. while trick n agility stuff, i practice everyday. n i think this is d sport that can make d audience focus to what ur dog doing in d ring.

Just to make a correction on Amanda's post, it is not compulsary to join as MKA member upon enrolling for the ob classes. Hence, the class fees is RM 100.

liping,

but y when i called up MKA last time, d staff said that OB training lesson is for MKA member onli....so i'll need to sign up as member to join...

tat's d reason y i didn't join MKA training @ pdg merbok, which is nearer to my house in jln gasing.....instead i went to tmn desa...

they change policy edi izit?

Amanda,

When was the last time you called up MKA? We have already restructured the obedience fees quite some time ago. I have already called up the office to confirm the pricing before posting yesterday's information.

And we are now training indoors at South City Plaza, no longer at Padang Merbok.

The website probably has not updated the fees information.
