hi,

u can refer to http://www.puppy.com.my/...;;page=unread#unread

or some other posts in the thread..there any advises given on how to housetrain ur puppies.....

but juz wondering, when u sleep, where do u place ur puppies? in a crate or u juz let them sleep anywhere they like? if it's in the crate, they won b able to pee/poo the whole house rite?

as a summary, during housetraining period, u need to confine them to an area (when u r not around or busy). and when u r at home with them, alwiz guide them to the right place to pee/poo at the right time...i.e after waking up, after meal, after sleep and before sleep.

if they make mistakes and u manage to catch them in the act...say a firm 'NO' and guide them to the right place. if they do it right, praise them like u hv won a jackpot, give them hugs or treats....

enjoy housetraining........Cool

Thanks lot for ur advise.I not put them in the crate, i let them free in my house.I will try train them tonight.

My female puppy looks like abit over weight. It morre bigger size than the male.its stomach very rounded. Is it got worm inside?I bought the dog food name "BIL JAC".Is recommed by the pet shop. They said this type of dog food no need feed too much to the puppy.Only half cup will do for 1 puppy. But is it enough for the puppy?iI scared they not enough full, then this will cause them to eat their poo.

any suggestion how many time should i feed the puppy and how many quantity should i give them?I have to work and no one at home in the afternoon, i can only feed them in the morning and night,is it ok?

Re: [jeffreyyingwah] My 2months old golden puppy pee&poo every where!!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

You should confined them in a crate or a specific area esp during bedtime until they are fully housetrained. or else...u will hv problem cleaning up their mess...and the worst thing is they will continue doing it coz the smell will remain unless u use a special odor removal to clean up the place. if not, they will smell it and tend to pee/poo at the old place....this will make ur housetraining forever.....

did u take ur puppies for a medical check up? since u bought them from pet shop. this is what i did when i first got my pup. i brought her for a check up to ensure everythg is okay. during that time, u can ask the vet to check if the puppies have worms or not....did u ask the pet shop if they hv been vaccinated and dewormed? u hv their medical card rite? besides that since u feel that your puppy is overweight, it is advisable that u bring her to the vet. so that u can hv a peace of mind on their health condition as well as their ideal weight. the vet will advise you if your puppies are under/over weight and will teach you a proper way to take care of your pups...since u hv both together. chances of getting any sickness from each other will be higher.

err.......i feed my pup Eukanuba...i hvnt hrd of Bil Jac before...frankly speaking, i'm not specialised at dog food...but some of the famous dog food that i know of are Eukanuba, Science Diet, California Natural etc.....but since the pet shop has been feeding ur pups with Bil Jac all the while, it is advisable that you don immediately chg their food.

if you choose to chg their food, please do it gradually by mixing the old food and the new food (about 25% at a time).

normally for puppies, i think the best is 3 times a day. But since you are working and no one will b at home to feed them, then i think twice a day should b juz fine. just look at the instruction stated behind the dog food on how much to feed the puppies based on their weight/size.

hope this helps.....Smile

Re: [jeffreyyingwah] My 2months old golden puppy pee&poo every where!!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

2 puppy @ a time is a difficult task......

u definately had 2 confine them n must not let them free to roam around unsupervised....

puppy tends to go back to where they had pee/poo b4.....so better prevent them from simply peeing/pooing @ d living room...

since golden will grow big....buying a crate is not useful @ later stage....
d best solution is where u had a garden @ home.... release them in d morning...after they had pee/poo onli let then enter d house... since puppy cannot hold for long.....release them every 2 hours....

when they had d habit of going outside to pee.....then @ later stage....they will never pee in d house even u lock them up for 12 hours...

if u wan 2 train them 2 do it in d toilet..... then locked them inside until they had done it...then onli release....everytime when a pup wake from sleep....they will wan 2 pee....so bring them in d toilet straight away....don wait until they start 2 do accident again....when u r spending time wit them, u will notice they start sniffing n keep turning @ d same corner....tis is a signal whereby they wanted to pee/poo again.....so quickly bring them 2 d specific area.....

if u cannot supervise them during work time or during sleeping....locked them in d toilet then....tis sound cruel, but is definately effective....

when they had properly trained up....then they can freely roam around witout being need to lock

usually check up comes wit annual vaccination....

but since ur dog is not from pet shop n had fully vaccinated...then no need to waste d money for d vet....

btw, your female pup might juz look to hv baby fat.....don concern to much about their weight since they r juz puppy...

oh...it;s from a dog owner.....i tot it's from pet shop...if this is the case, and you know the owner, then you don hv to bring them for a check up. the odor removal is not very exp and can b found in pet shop.

but as long as u can guide them to the correct pee/poo at the right time, u don really need to use the removal. my pup used to pee/poo everywhere in the house whenever i let her out...and like you, i was kinda worried that this situation will continue for the rest of her life!!!!!!!! heheheheehe

anyway, thanks to many advises from the forumers here, i managed to toilet trained her d....the key is persistence and perseverance.....soon they will get the idea..Smile

Feed dog food design fior large breed dog (Eukanuba, Royal Canin & Eagle Pack). Avoid letting your GR on slippery flood just for preventing your dog develop HD. Control them for jumping too often also.

Two meal a day should be sufficient.

Your GR now only 2 month old and I am sure you still need atleast 2 more vaccination to be fully vaccinated only you can bring them out for socialise.

How come you buy 2 puppy together??? You will face difficulty in training your 2 puppies up ler. Is much easy to train 1 pup at a time then 2 pups.

Anyway good luck to you.

Re: [jeffreyyingwah] My 2months old golden puppy pee&poo every where!!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

yeah....crate won b suitable for your dog as ur dog is a big size dog...so if u don wan to use crate, u can confine them using playpen instead....dat is like a 'pagar'...u can get both crate and playpen from any pet shops.

it is advisable that u bathe them at least once a week. since u hv 2 puppies and u wan to breed them, i think it will b better if you separate them during the 'heat' season when they are just 1 yr old....don breed them when they are still young...but there are a lot of considerations to b made b4 u breed them...u can actually read some of them from the dog breeding thread.....

don do it juz for the fun of having puppies........

Agree with Amanda & Jessicaohh.

Your Female dog not only come on heat once but every year twice. So, are you going to breed them everytime your female on heat? I don't think so right. If yes you probably ending up with alot of GRShocked

There are alot of thing you need to consider before you start your breeding.

Re: [chrisong] My 2months old golden puppy pee&poo every where!!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

it's common practice for puppies to pee and poo all the time. you'll probably have to live with that fact for the next few months.

their bladders aren't strong enough and they are still learning how to control it.

some pointers would be to get them to do their business whenever you can.
every half hour or every one hour.
especially after dinner, b4 and after sleeping...just whenever basically. if you see them sniffing on the floor it's a good indication that they are thinking about it.

it minimizes the chances of 'accidents'

as for breeding them, i really hope you'll give it more consideration. take it for tests to check that they are really fit to be bred so that they produce healthy offsprings. i think you'll need to check for hip eye problems etc i'm not an expert at this area.
think about it if they aren't really suitable then you'd be like those evil puppy-mills.
