hello.. you're the sweden guy/girl right? you mean you wan bring your GR to public transport? hmmm.... i don't know if i'm right,.. but i don't think you can bring a big dog to take the bus.. (maybe a cab is better).. but more possible to the KTM la.. but you will have to have preperation for all those starry eyes from 'malays' starring one kind at you. you'll feel reali reali uncomfortable..

ahh..thanks. i should expect that sorta stares Unsure i need to know all these before considering taking johnny to Malaysia otherwise we will face many probs later. hmm...no busses are willing to have a dog as a passenger eh..thats kinda sad. I don't think cabs are willing to take dog as well cuz johnny might dirty the seat with his hair. Frown

yep.. actually i don't see a point bringing doggies to malaysia Unsure.. they won't have fun at all. you'll get starry eyes.. you won't be abe to find hotel which accepts dogs... msia do not have any off-leash parks, and i don't think you can even bring your dog with you when you meet up your friends for a cup of coffee. your doggie will only be kept at home day and night... aih.. msian dogs so 'cham'. jes imagine you spend thousands of Ringgit buying him a travel ticket to come Msia so tat he would be kept at home.. Crazy unfortunately eh. Msia is SOOOOO doggie-UNfriendly.

hmm..sounds very 'cham' indeed. Msia is really a nice place but not for dogs i guess. There are too many probs to worry about like stray dogs, parks, transportation, public stares and etc Unsure

aiyoh! it's not so "cham" as it sounds lah! although we do not have poshy pet hotel, offleashpark, etc....like in other developed countries but we still have some places that we can bring our furkids to. do check in the forum, there's places, restaurant & hotel that you can bring your furkid to.

There's also some events organised by puppy.com where we can bring our furkids to socialise with other furkids & owners. You may also organise on your own for a furkid party! hey, do remember to invite us huh.....lol

are you comming to Malaysia for a holiday or do you come for living here?

I have bring my dog twice, we lived in Malaysia in '98

and now we have a house on the eastcoast.

at the moment I am with mt dog in the Netherlands, almost next doorCool

I can tell you, my dog love to stay in Malaysia, and she was a sort of homesick when we were back in '98.......

now she knows she can come over when I go

We hope to move back to malaysia in years to come but if we're lucky my bf's family will move there with the Malaysia My Second Home Program. Are you from taking such program as well? For the time being we would like to bring our dog back to Msia only for a holiday. The 1st i think he needs to overcome is the malaysian warm and humid weather.

we have the MSH program, for more than 2 years now.

to give you an advice, don't bring your dog for a holiday, unless you stay with family, but don't go travel around with him/her.

not nice for you, but most impotend, not nice for the dog, and I am not talking about the weather.

first your dog has to stay in Quarantaine for 8 days, after a trip with the plane.......about 12 hours in cargospace......

and there are no hotels where you can stay with your dog.......and traveling in Malaysia....where do you get a car?

they will not rent a car to you when your dog is with you.......

it's more different than Europe, in Europe you can travel around, nobody will look at you when you walk in the street of any town , of any country, but this is Malaysia.......don't do it.

leave to dog in a good dog hotel and enjoy your stay in MalaysiaWink

Thanks netty. Perhaps you've got a point there. We would feel terrible knowing what our dog must through. I would like to know how did you apply and the process of MSH program. Do check out General (chitchat) for that. Thanks.
