Jz taught Roccio to do the "rollover" yesterday...he has learned hw to do it bt he haven master it yet. It's really so amazing when he learn a new thing, really can make me so happy n proud although he's nt tat pro n too playful. he cannot pay full attention to my instructions wan cos too attracted to the treats i hav in hand .
Roccio is stil a beginner in tricks so is there any other simple tricks tat i can teach him? hw do i teach him to sit with oni his 2hind legs n 2front legs up? I would really appreciate any help given.. thanks ya
Playful is good n just wat u need 4 teaching tricks. Dat n a really enticing toy or special treat (not just any treat).
Sit up on 2 - Place Roccio in sit position. Hold fav treat in front of his nose n move treat up 2 between d ears. With enuf enthusiasm n encouragement, he will lift himself up 2 reach 4 d treat n his 2 front legs will come off d ground. Praise n treat 4 any lifting of d 2 front legs. Ven better at dis, introduce a command (‘Sit up’) n hand signal (clenched fist above dog’s head) n make sure he sits on his hind legs b4 treating.
U cn also do dis while he is leashed 2 a stationery object. Hold treat slightly in front n above his head. He’ll naturally lunge forward n his 2 front legs will come up.
Dis trick is an Oz Silky fav n some can even sit up n do d ‘Gong Xi Fa Cai’ gesture as well, sweet! Just remember d 3Ps in teaching tricks: lotsa praise, practice n patience.

Sure, u can teach him a few tricks at d same time. Just keep d sessions short n sweet 2 maintain his interest. Remember 2 gv a consistent command n hand signal 4 each trick.
In d beginning, u'll normally hv 2 use treats/ toys 2 lure him in2 performing d move. As he bcoms more familiar with d move, try n gradually phase out d treat. D trick is d get 2 a stage whereby he'll perform d move based solely on ur command or a slight hand signal.

Certainly, dogs r pretty smart n cn perform tricks based on voice commands alone. Ur commands will hv 2 b punchy n enthusiastic, not necessarily loud. However, 4 d more complicated tricks, u may still need some signal or body motion 2 guide dem along. Eg. in K9 musical freestyle sport which is a blend of innovative heelwork n tricks performed 2 music, d dog will b reading ur body motion n signals 4 d cue 4 d next move.
Roccio’s still a pup n hs plenty of time 2 pick up d moves. Just go slow on tricks dat places a lot of pressure on d hind legs till he’s bout 10 -12 mths old eg. jumps, stand/ sit up on 2. __________________________________________________

U cn still teach him dose moves, just dun overdo it eg. low jumps < 6", sit up < 1 sec. Short n sweet is fine, as long as dun put 2 much strain on d legs as d joints r still developing. Well done on d sit up trick, Roccio seems like a fast learner.

There's no limit as 2 wat ur dog cn learn n do. D only limits here r time n d handler. Keep teaching Roccio d moves. Once he can focus on u well enuf, den he bcoms easier 2 handle n u cn take him to just bout anywhere. __________________________________________________

U must b d late comer with d CS pup running around. Hope Groovy didnt scare ur pup coz he cn b quite rough n possessive of his ball. Glad u managed 2 play fetch with him. He's always looking 4 new people 2 play fetch with. Dun really like bringing d ball back 2 owners coz he knows he'll den hv 2 perform some tricks just to get it back.
Ur dog will learn as long as u r willing 2 teach n hv d patience. To play fetch is a 2 way thing ie. u need 2 get involved in d play as well + running around 2 chase 4 d ball/toy as well. Race ur dog 4 d toy, get down on fours n try 2 play tug with ur dog. Get him really interested in d toy n he'll soon associate it with fun n retrieving will come more naturally. Keep a fav toy aside 4 special play or training sessions. __________________________________________________

Wanna ask u abit.hehe..now teaching mocha gong xi gong xi..now wen i say gong xi gong xi he ll try to take up both his front leg but need to put on my hand w/o my hand he not stable then ll jump to the treats.how to make him stay at tat position n put together his hand?

Not an expert on d Gongxi trick but hv seen a few Silkies performing it very nicely, so mayb u try d Silky thread 4 advice. My JRT can only do d sit up n twirl.
Using ur hand 2 steady Mocha is perfectly ok especially if he is still a pup. Once he gets d idea, he'll b more steady n u cn phase out ur hand. Best not 2 overtrain dis trick coz ur pup's hind legs r still developing. 2 get him 2 put d paws together, try n get him excited over a special treat held just above his head n he'll attempt 2 paw d treat. Reward 4 any attempt 2 lift d paws. If really excited, he'll den try 2 use both paws 2 reach 4 it. If he does so, big reward n lotsa praise. __________________________________________________
hihi i'm back again...finally Roccio noes hw to gongxi gongxi d at first i ask him to sit up then i'll hold to of his paw n shake it n tell him tat's gongxi gongxi (it takes a while for him to get the idea)..whenever i say gongxi gongxi n i saw his attempt to lift his paw n shake it i reward him...n the first time he did it correctly i reward him -> big big reward n he gt more n more excited about it...tat's hw Roccio learn gongxi gongxi
