Remember take alot of your Silky photo while he/she still a pup. They grow up very fast.

I need to go for work early in the morning at 7am to 7pm daily. Saturday half day working & weekend usually will stay at home bathing & grooming them. I usually will bring them for breakfast at Sri Hartamas cafe on weekend sometime going back my parent house at Puchong. That it.Unsure Thinking to go for long holiday? I can forget about it. I can't leave them behind even half the day, I will miss/worry about them. As I told you, all my silkies are house train. So, they can run freely inside my house even my bedroom while I am away for work.

Re: [chrisong] How To Groom a Silky [In reply to] Can't Post

yea around 4 months old.

the previous owner, bath him everyday. i guess this is the reason why her hair is so dry. how do i solve this problem?

yester i took her to the vet for grooming and a jab..the vet says she doesnt need any hair trimming. (but the ear which is growing on her ears looks funny)..just let it grow long. she trim her nails ..bath her and clean her ear. cost rm50.

Bathing Once a week. After Shampoo, Put about a teaspoon of Lanolin oil into the conditioner apply on her coat leave it about 4-5min and rinse well. Her hair will look oily but it ok.

Second option you can buy coat spray available at petshop. Either brand will do (All System or Biogroom). After shampoo & conditioner blowdry her hair and spray a small amount on her coat and comb it. That it. Much easy. But I prefer the first one better conditioning for the coat.

Silky is a healthy breed. Hot weather should not be a problem for them. But required to give more water to them.

Better learn grooming ur self next time lor. Grooming Silky is not that difficult.

Re: [babymiki] How To Groom a Silky [In reply to] Can't Post

Trimming of the ears can be done with clippers and ears should be cleaned of long hair both front and back. Straight scissors may be used along the edge to neaten them. This is very important on young pups as the added weight of the hair can keep the ears from standing erect. Between the eyes can be done with thinning shears and needs to be an upside down "V" from corner of each eye to the part betwen the ears. All the long hair between the eyes can be neatly trimmed so the beautiful eyes can be seen.
