min pin puppy with teary eyes Can't Post
Can anyone tell me if it's normal for a puppy to have teary eyes when he's sleepy? My puppy is a 2 month old min pin and I just got him 2 days ago.

Hello danielly,

Dogs do have tears.I clean my shih tzu eyes once a day to avoid eye infections.

   This is normal. I clean Trivor's eyes 3 times a day after meal, I also clean her butt as she likes to get measles on her tummy and area around the butt errrkkkk.... Crazy

Danielly,
just got back from vet clinic. Pls check whether your doggie's ear is dirty?
My Trivor has no appetite and have teary eyes lately. I just brought her to vet clinic this morning and the vet said she got ear mites. That will cause her lost of appetite as too itchy and teary eyes, as the mites will go through the eyes and ears channel. when they pass through the eyes, this will cause eyes watery.
Not trying to scare you, I also just found out this morning. So, if your doggi has this symptom (lost appetite), maybe have him check up immediately.

Hi adam,

Thanks for the info. Do u use any special lotion, etc to clean your dog's eyes? Is it safe to buy those lotion, etc from the pet shop?

Hi Trivor,

Thanks for sharing the info. I read about the ear mites too. My pup's appetite is still "fantastic".

I've been observing him for the past 4 days and everytime when he's sleepy, surely he will have teary eyes. I called up the vet yesterday and he also asked about his appetite. The vet said it should be alright. Anyway, I will still send my pup to the vet, manalah tau got ear mites...

hi danielly,

I use opticlear to clean cookie's eyes. Just wet some cotton with it and wipe clean.That easy!
