to train a dog is very depending on ur efforts, time and patience spent. while there arent any dog which is easier to taken care off, especially purebreeds. are u staying alone or with ur family? I suggest u to bring them along to see all these 4 breeds & discuss which one they like most. Smile

Please do a bit of research.

Bulldogs are great companions, they are not big barkers, likes people and are great companion dogs but you will get lots of saliva around the house. You will need to take extra care of the folds and wrinkles on the face. Bulldogs can also develop sleeping difficulties because of short muzzle, can even snore hehehe. Can easily get heat stroke coz short muzzle make breathing harder.... so bulldogs cannot stay under the sun too long. They can go for long walks but nothing vigorous like jogging. Bulldogs shed.

Pugs, great companions too. They have short muzzle like bulldogs that can develop breathing disorders same like bulldogs but sometimes the disorders are normal and aren't bad lah. Pugs are compact sized bulldogs but with longer legs and a more active personality than a bulldog. Short coat is easy to take care but face wrinkles need extra attention like bulldogs. Pugs shed.

Beagles are active dogs, need excercise and room to run. They are by nature, hounds so they love long runs. They are loveable, clean dogs to have but they do shed like all dogs. Grooming is easy coz short coat but this dog will keep itself clean most of the time, unless got mud around hahah... This breed is an eager breed and will learn fast but sometimes can be stubborn.

Basset Hounds are cute dogs, very expressive. They need extra attention to the eyes and ears. Bassets can put on weight easily coz they are greedy with their food. They can be trained but Bassets have bee known to be stubborn. They are sometimes vocal too but this breed just melts the heart with their cute actions.

Do read a bit. It does not hurt to read more about the breeds. Just google the breeds and you will get loads of info on them.

As for training, you will need to get a good training book to read. Or browse through this forum to find old postings on training.

I recomend u 2 choose:BeagleTongue

Beagles are good at sports(kinda), quite smart and quite easy to train. You can train it at home or send it to trainnin skoolTongue.Plus, beagles have short fur so u dont have 2 worry about the flea, u can spot it and throw the flea awaySmile
