Same style as Groovy. Cant sit still…will move if anything moves, even if its just d wind. Hence, after a bit of OB, v ven straight in2 agility n never looked back since. Well, not quite coz now trying 2 do some OB with him…know wat u mean by ‘seems like torture 2 dem’.
Mayb some dogs r just born 4 OB, some 2 do agility n only a few will find both agreeable. __________________________________________________

i think u should hav also notice my kinki girl....she is so patient....n would not play wild....every jungle trekking also....stay alone n sniff sniff around only...duwan 2 play wit other....kinda anti social...
while practising wit her OB at home....it was a pleasant experience....but when out there during d graduation test.....she become timid again n if d floor is wet....she'll NEVER sit... and it was such a coincidence tat kinki's both graduation test also got rain...

Very likely if confirm it is on. My weimer broke on her "sit stay". She had scored well all through but that discipline really mkae her lost a lot of points.

Guys,
I guess u noe by now what my believe in Ob should be..same with every other dogsport. It should be abt FUN FUN FUN!!
It is not impossible. There are lotsa dogs out there who enjoy Ob as well as agility & excel at both..just a different way of training is all. U will see a difference in their tail & u will get better results. ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)

Yup, guess its how u train dat matters most. Must get some tips from u on how 2 make it more enjoyable den. With my mutt, its quite difficult 2 get him focused, calm n collected enuf 2 do proper heelwork. Coz 2 get him 2 focus means getting him ready 4 play n dat means ‘calm n collected’ out d window.
Dogs dat enjoy both sports…sure thing. Those dat excel in both…cant really judge coz there arent any agility trials at d mo. Wld like 2 c dem in action tho.
With regards 2 switching modes 4 different dog sports, d demands of OB n protection work in S’hund sport r even more exact n opposing. Dey appear 2 b able 2 handle d switch ie. from calm n collected 2 protection mode n vice versa. Or is it just in d GSD/ Malinois genes? Must b d perfect example of how a dog cn operate at both ends of d scale…OB n some furious work ven d situation requires.
So ya, dogs can excel in contrasting disciplines n sports…d only limitation is d owner. __________________________________________________

lol. I can try...but i think u already noe Groovy does enjoy doing "OB" like the "who's boss?" command & weaving thru the legs & etc. So i think u've covered the groundwork.
"Dogs dat enjoy both sports…sure thing. Those dat excel in both…cant really judge coz there arent any agility trials at d mo. Wld like 2 c dem in action tho."
Ahhh..sorry. I meant in the world..plenty of dogs everywhere else doing well.lol.
"Dey appear 2 b able 2 handle d switch ie. from calm n collected 2 protection mode n vice versa"
That is what attracts me to the sport. The amount of control . U can see the difference in the control & precision. Even when the dog is "high",he has to obey the owner or it'll cost him points.
Nah..it's definitely not a GSD/Mal thing. It's training. I read an article bout a teenage girl in the states taking her backyard aussie shepherd & doing BH (1 step below SchH) ,-._,-. \/)"(\/ (_o_)

Hi icezcream lady,
Caught a glimpse of you earlier and your dog seem to be heeling well however have you try not holding the leash with your left hand, then you will know if the dog does a good heel.
Hope to catch you tomorrow evening, I am likely to walk my dogs in the morning on week ends.

hello PSY,
yeah. that was the spitz mix you saw. his heeling is good but tend to get a little out of focus at times. that's why i need to hold the leash on my left for a fast tuck. hehehee..
hope to catch up with you tomorrow. praying for a nice evening.
