Do GR Puppy sheds to change to new Fur ? Can't Post

Hi all,

Just got a new GR, it seems some of the fur on the body is not even n shedding n balding patch by patch, no skin problem, no red skin no red spot, skin is normal but fur is like dropping heavily. According to the breeder, they are changing fur and he said the changing starts from bottom to up n the new fur will start growing from leg onwards, can see some new fur growing from leg, just wanna clarify is there such scenario on a GR Pup? Please help, thanks.

It's true that GRs shed a lot but I never seen my dog has bald patches from puppy until now...Do you see him scratching? Is the skin dry? If it's not skin disease, then could be the food. You may want to change his food to see whether it works for your dog, but you have to do the change gradually....There are also plenty of supplements you can use to improve the skin & coat conditions. Pls try to do some research to see the recommendations by others! Smile

Nope, your dog should never have any bald spot when it would be the seasonal shedding, since he would “blow” his undercoat only.It might be food related, since you mention no skin irritation visible.

Hi Woof,

change my job recently so did not have time to go on-line. That's not a picture of my GSD. However, hope my GSD will look like that someday. Ha Ha Ha

Well, there wasn't really any "recovering" to do. Except mayb frm the surgeries. It was a matter of seeing whether she could adapt to her leg as she got heavier. She does not realize the missing limb tho. Still plays just as rough.
The same ol' pack plus one new lil shepherd.Wink
