Honestly, if you're blaming on a certian individual who just left the poodle on a secluded area without even informing the boss about it. That's IRRESPONSIBLE i call it. and by rite, the boss should just sack that fella. I love Donald Trump's phrase "You're FIRED" .

but hey...wait....the buyer did come back after one week and reclaim back the cash of the purchase rite??? wah, an employee fork out his/her own money to pay for the poodle? and without informing the employer???? Frown

so rich ar the employee. I'm SURE every tom, dick and harry in an establishment will sure ly inform their employee about this kinda matter and it also involves CASH. I'm sure they'll ask the boss to pay or even the boss who handled this matter will surely pay the buyer.

To sum everything, no matter what, I think the employer are completely aware of this matter; a poodle being returned and do nothing about it once they managed to settle the matter fast so that the buyer will not wreck havoc in their establishment at the point of returning the poodle.

Is it very common in Malaysia? I hardly saw any of though..

But there are plenty here in Australia. Very very common. I have one myself.

If you guys choose to keep badgering me and continue to make this personal, just remember that other people are logging in to this forum and reading what you are saying. They will follow the thread all the way and see for themselves what is happening. By trying to whack me, you are just making things worse for yourselves. It's OK for me, I'm not a regular in this forum. I see your postings everywhere on puppy.com. What kind of credibility of character are you showing the forum readers out there?

Now, to answer your individual questions.... Starting with Chrissong. For you, it is safe to assume that you are probably an adult as you are married. If you bothered to read my other postings, I have given you ideas about what to do. I told you to complain. YOU gave excuses saying that they would not listen. Even before trying, it seems like you already know. Phekling, I think Chrissong is the medium here, not me. Secondly, did I not say that the S.P.C.A. are just a phonecall away? You obviously did not even bother to read my replies and started to whack first. Don't forget Chrissong, you may not bother to read what I have written, but trust me, others do. And when they see you bash at me like that, what do you think they are going to think about you? Credibility down the drain.... After this, what ever you post back is questionable already.... Really sad... As for ModJO what can I say?....Sigh... If you want to win for the sake of winning, then I let you win lah... PhekLing, although you said pretty mean things about me, I commend you! You at least, I can sense are an animal lover. All I'm asking from you is go back to the first thread, read carefully, and try to understand what I'm saying. I know that these people are your friends but right is right, wrong is wrong. I do not work and am in no way related to the pet safari. If you do not believe me, so be it. I do not need to prove anything. I am now choosing not to get personal with any of you. All I'm saying is, we should make a conscious effort to stand up for all animals when we see mistreatment. The fact about the dead poodle is true and even newpapers are distributing the news so is this wrong by informing other about this matter?

Common sense la. You think the boss there will entertain your complaint? He open that shop just to genarate profit. Puppies come in and the only think in his mind is when will the puppies selling off that all. "Business" all I can say about this petshop industry.

My heart goes out to that poor pup. Like most people I'm boycotting Pet Safari. Like one of the members posted and asked us to see the bigger picture.... I guess that member felt that he/she saw the bigger picture. I feel if Pet Safari can rent out the space they should be responsible enough to keep an eye on their tenants. What their tenants do will ultimately affect them. They cannot claim ignorance.

My support will go to the other pet shops, many of which are run by responsible individuals who are animal lovers themselves and not individuals who claim to be animal lovers but are in actual fact out to make a quick buck

just a thought to discuss if u dont mind, if we were to boycott the pet safari isnt it it seems unfair to other tenants? especially i do noticed there is a section for cats which under renovation, which means they will start operating after this incident happens, so it is kinda affect the innocent parties due to the wrong doer's act.

well it is just a thought, i hope nobody will come & say im supporting this & that leh, kinda frequent happen here..

Hi,

I don't mind. You're entitled to have your opinion. Well for me whether it's unfair or not to the other tenants doesn't really bother me. I mean it's a small place, people working there have to hang out together for the working hours and I have seen them moving around and chit chatting. Maybe someone else knew about the sick pup, it kinda' seems impossible only one person knew. Plus the excuses they gave in the newspaper was far from acceptable, not like there could have been an acceptable excuse. I doubt the pup died in an hour or two. I'm sure it suffered for a while.

Since those people are so concerned about profit, the best way to hit them is to kill their profit margin. So I'm doing my part like some of the other members here.

Only support those petshop run by individual dog lovers unlike those huge establish chains have no conscience toward small animals. They treat them like products on the shelf. If you happen to come to Penang, please check out K-9 Pets on Mecalister Road! They are the BEST!

Still, I never thought of 'boycotting' Pet Safari though I have to say.

Im only here for the sake of discussion regarding what happened.

i was getting dissapointed with this thread until u came along.

Suddenly we were being called 'childish, immatured, u win i win etc etc' so annoying.

So called 'big picture'.

One day this person is going to go to a supermarket, slip on a slippery floor hit his head and die, then his family will say "Nvm la, must look at the big picture.. maybe only one of the staff forgot to put a warning saying the floor was slippery. let's be nice and not blame anyone"

I am not so sure about that weather they are GAM tak GAM with the VET there?... BUT For me that people on the DOGS shop is really STUPID... By not bringing the Poodle to the VET..

To ALL,
Maybe Bringing to the VET might not bring any good to the poodle but at least they do the best before the the poodle and if i am not mistaken that the poodle that the owner LADY have she brought from the DOG SHOP in pet safari... and SHOULD THEY BE VACINATED THE PUPPY BEFORE Give to the customer...?? And They Left the poodle to DIE... this is cruel.. And I think the point for this TREAT post by meijiun is not to LET eveyone here argue and pointing finger to each other in the forum... and IF you all CAN PLEASE be more OPEN.. Coz I think the reason of the TREAT is to let eveyone know that they have to be more careful to choose the right PETSHOP that care for their puppy and kitten they are selling not simply choose and to prevent someone here in the forum and expseically beginner like myself to be a victim to the DOGS SHOP in Pet safari... .. WELL is that TRUE meijiun my friend??

well....the main purpose i post this thread is to let everyone be aware of wat has happened in Pet Safari....this incident is truly disappointing n i guess anyone would not expect this incident to happen in such a big n reputable pet shop like Pet safari...like many others im also one of the regulars there...not that i want to spoil their reputation but i think that everyone deserves to know wat has happened...n this incident was truly irresponsible n this puppy was neglected by those who claim themselves as pet specialists

... i did not post this thread to provoke ppl to boycott the place...it is their choice whether they still wanna go there a not....but for myself...i definately wont go there to buy any puppy as such incident has happened.. it is very important to buy puppies that are healthy n well taken care of....as a dog lover myself, i understand how u all feel n i too was angry when i first heard this news...knowing that not many ppl are aware of it so i chose to post it to share wif u all....

anyway...i hope that everyone who reads this thread will forward it to frens, family to let them be aware of wat has happened.. n to those who runs a pet shop, breeder should also be aware not to make the same mistake as pet safari...also be very careful if u r thinking of buying a puppy..make sure buy from a reliable pet shop...dog also deserves the right to be loved n cared... so choose wisely! (my opinion la Laugh

I almost forgot about this incident until i read back all the very interesting arguments from you guys. B4 this, I read the news from newspaper only.

Well, regarding the issue about whether Addict is right or the rest are wrong, it doesn't matter. Infact, I'm very very happy to see everyone getting so emotional over this incident because that actually proves that WE CARE & WE ARE ALL ANIMAL LOVERS (young or old)!!! I'm glad that to see many ppl out there actually loves animals especially dogs more and more compared to those days how they treat dogs. U won't get emotional if you don't care for anything rite?

He he he... What a coincidence! I'm planning to visit Pet Safari this Thursday and I'm reading this Sly

now. FYI, I'm not a frequent visitor there BUT i think it's alrite to just buy their products. Let me go and checkout if their other services are still as bad as per your comments. Crazy

I did complain to the staff of Pet safari several times about their pet. Pass motion already, eating stool and lying down on the stool. They just snubbed at me, and think who the hell is that guy. I also told them before one dog got flu and diarrhoea, they said impossible, they are vaccinated.

I even saw the staff gave packet of antibiotic to a client when the client said the puppy they bought started to have flu. Who gave them authority to treat animal and the license to prescribe medicine without the knowledge of the character of the antibiotic they just sold?

Is there a thread or section somewhere in this forum where members can give feedback about vets and petshops? Perhaps a moderated section, so obviously gratuitous, slanderous and deliberately malicious postings can be filtered out. It will increase our leverage as consumers and probably help people (and dogs) avoid going to the wrong places.

This topic sure made it as interesting read. Just sharing my parts here as I was actually quite a regular at this particular pet store. On product wise, they do carry a wide range of brands. I normally get my dog food there but stop doing that now as I found that the particular brand that I've being buying was no longer 'fresh' (slow stock turnover maybe). And on their stocks of dogs in particular (this is purely my personal opinion), I found that they do look sickly and lethargic. I saw the same condition when I was in Hatyai just only where puppies were selling from as cheap as RM600 a piece with the most expensive around RM1K, big and small breeds. I strongly suspected overtime puppy mills. The operators even offered delivery services to Malaysia (go figure!).

One of my furkids suffered from skin problem and I'm very selective of the brand(s) that I fed her. One of this pet store staff by the name of Brian (I think) did give me good advice on how to go about taking care of her. On top, I do get discount particularly on Tuesday, up to 15% as it is Lady's Day. I'm not advocating this store, mind you all but rather, as a smart consumer. As animal lover however, I do viewed any neglection gravely and shouldn't be tolerated.

On whether we should have a new thread for vets and petshops review, I do seconded this idea. My rationale, any business that deals with selling live entity should be more responsible and make accountable of the condition of their 'products', to provide a good environment once their charges are out of their hands. With pet stores mushrooming and with profit making as the ultimate aim, we should play our role as animal lovers first and smart consumers second to make our stand against irresponsible supplies and sellers. When there's no demand, there's no supply.
