I have a 7-years old male dog and I've bought another 3-months old male puppy recently. Their first meeting turned out well in the begining till my 7 year old dog started to hump the puppy. I know it may due to a sign of dominance over the other, but I'm afraid that the puppy might get hurt. Is there a way to stop or control this behavior?

Unless the older dog is showing signss of aggressiveness and you are fearful for your pup, I would not intervene. Just as though the dogs were in the wild they need to establish rules, boundaries and importance among the pack. Naturally, the older dog should have the upper hand, and by you interfering, this sends mixed messages to both dogs. Let them work it out. Welcome To The Family Deisel!
