Does anyone know where I could get a automatic pet feeder? Ones with a timer that either runs on batteries or electricity? Reason being at times I've no choice but to get home late, just can't bare the thought of muh pup being hungry.
I've seen those that does not have any sort of timing device, that refills as the food is eaten. That's not too bad for a pup/dog that can control it's eating. Just don't think it'll work for a pug
hey-hey, this is interesting. do we have things like that too?? I always drive home during lunch time to feed my Trivor. Sometimes it rains heavily but I have no choice to drive in heavy rain. She knows all this, that's why she loves me so much *Happy* But if there is something like that can help.... that would be appreciated!! Of cause I still prefer to drive home everyday to feed her (this is mama's job, isn't it)?
Honestly the price is ok taking into account that i'll b like rm400+ after conversion. As long as the pup doesn't go hungry. The one thing that's stopping me from buying it online is the freight charges will someone murder some of us who are seriously looking into this. With such a device, we will also be able to be certain that our pup's feeding time will be consistent.
I haven't asked the local pet shops, however I have looked around to no avail. Cheers!
hello Archer, this is amazing!! My colleagues played a joke on me that they will invent an automatic feeder for Trivor as her birtheday gift. I will be asking them to buy on line hahaahaaa let me find out this too in local pet shops. If you found one, pls let me know alrite? thanks~
I have a pug too. I normally put his whole day supply ( 2 mug) in the bowl, he will eat half in afternoon & half at night. Sometimes he will leave some for supper at 2am . But is 100% dry kibbles..
2-3 months back, there's a pet shop in USJ 9 selling this kind of device. If not mistaken, it's less than Rm200. Not sure if the device is still available and OK with u.
If u want the tel. no of the pet shop, pls. let me know.
I've seen such device once at Pet's Wonderland(mid-valley) few months ago i think. Not too sure about the price though but i think should be less than Rm 400.
hello KawChai, Dunno this is true or not, but my vet told me don't put the food for whole day. 2 reasons:
(1) It will get contaminated after 15-20 minutes. So, normally after 15-20 min, Trivor can't finish, I will take away the bowl and pour the remaining food in a sealed container for her next meal.
(2) Dogs will tend to eat more if we give them whole bunch and get overweight easily. Maybe my golden can get fat easily, that's why I need to control her diet and weight before she gets HD.
so, I give her 3 meals a day, breakfast - lunch- dinner :-)
Muh pug's also named yoda looks like there are 2 Yoda's in this forum, both of the same breed.
Well ur Yoda must be one hell of an obedient dude. As for mine, he'll eat up watever that's in his bowl. He'll eat n eat n eat till his tummy looks like a barrel! He won't stop there, he'll continue eating too! hehe there must be some form of control for my Yoda hehehe. Cheers!
hello Archer, But I think 6 months and above puppies do not need to feed so often. I saw the label on the dog food, they actually recommended 2 meals a day for 6 months + puppies. So, I think I will bear with it until Trivor reaches 6 months age.
oh yes baby, decided to name him Yoda coz I thought of the character in starwars, small, ugly***, wise. After reading so much bout pugs, I thought both the PUG and Yoda(from the movie) actually do have some similiarities! even thought of the name b4 getting the puppy hehehe.
photos? yeh sure; plone. /Members/archer/Photo_Album.2003-04-15.1433/Photo_Album.2003-04-14.1009/view site may be a lil slow, but pls bare with it.
hey KawChai, where do u stay? mebbe both the Yodas could meet after mine gets it's 3rd vaccination?
by the way, is ur pup a she or he? mine's a he. Cheers!
mine is a 'he'.... if is a she ...i would name her yody....kekekeke
yoda stay at sg.long right now...how about you?
we used to take him to padang merbuk for training...together with other pugs in our group...but hiya...shame la...everyone there also know yoda very stubborn..until the trainer say "look at his face.....eeeeeeee...one kind one". dunno wat he thinking...he only look sky look land when the trainer is training him
p/s: you have a very handsome pug....must 'kau sei lui' when he grown up hehe
cheers

yup..you are right, they have a mind of their own, really dunno what they are thinking....they can sit & day dream looking at the window ...
i seldom take him to training now bcoz of the sars issue & also partly...hiya...give in also. we did use treat to lure him but it seems he knows the treat is for 'lure-ing' purpose...& he rather didn't want the treat. The training place is at the padang...everytime when we go there, we basically have to "DRAG" him in to the padang...( i think is like kids going to school)...but when go back him...he run so fast & happily...
now he know 'come' sit' down' hand' high 5' go out' and no'. i think is okay la...no need to train him until like army..hehe
that's the spirit they have! however I do not know how giving treats will help Yoda, coz everytime he smells the treat, he goes literally wild! sniffing, jumping, running in circles. at that poitn of time it's impossible for him to ever hear* you hehehe...
yoda for now doesn't know any words at all Cheers!
