Worms and Worms Can't Post

Is it ok to deworm every 4 months? My dad keeps saying 1 year, according to the vet. I don't know which vet but I'm sure its VACCINATION thats once a year. Then I told him and he said then every 6 months but I don't want to deworm her twice a year only. She eat alot of dirty stuff. And is heartworm VERY important? I told my dad that and he said to ask the vet. If the vet say no, he'll never get her the tablet or injection. I read its very dangerous in Malaysia. What to do? He trust vet so much.. grrh.. some vets aren't good..

Sorry for cropping this up twice!

You dont have to deworm so often if you furkid poo poo is free from worm.meaning if you dont see any worm in your furkid poo poo, mean he dont have any worm..But deworm 4 months once is mostly practice by everyone, i deworm my furkid every 6 months..
Although he/she eat lot of dirty stuff, dog have short intensense compare to human, so when the food he cannot digest, it will come out as the original state.Dog have higher immune system compare to human..Imagine stray dog eat rubbish, it wont kill them
As heartworm, it more depend on the individual, if you prefer to practise safe before you are sorry, then i really suggest you to take the heartworm. Prevention is better than cure.
I hope this help...
