Where to get license for my dog??	Can't Post

Dear all,

I live in Jalan Nyaman, Happy Garden but i hvn't got license for my dog yet. Anyone knows where to get it in this area?? and If i'm the foreigner (no id card 'coz i'm not malaysian)..will they let me apply for that??

Hi..
What you need to do is get application form from your vet, and a photocopy of the vacin card. You can ask you vet to do the procedure for and paid for a certain of fee. The license itself cost RM 15.
About you, i am not sure if you can apply or not, but i want to know are u staying here as visitor or a pr resident.
You can ask your vet if you can apply or not.

Jalan Nyaman? It is really near to my house, I am at OUG.

THe nearest DBKL office is at Tmn Kuchai, which is 2-3 KM from Happy Garden using the new road that cut over the hill. you may check it there.

Hi ERN, where exactly is the location of the DBKL office in Kuchai Lama? I use that road all the time to go back but have never seen it before?

If possible, please provide land marks.

HI

THe landmark ah? cant think of one. I seldom use that road cause i dont need to. so am not sure what landmrk to give you.

ANyway, you use the road that cut over the hill, when you reach the JLN Kuchai Lama junction, you turn to the left, the building should be in white and not far from the juction. you have to go slowly as the DBKL sign is not really visible if you drive fast.

Hope this help, if you still can not find tell me lah, I will just drive there this weekend to draw the map.

The office is there, as I indicated in my earlier post, I am not sure whether they issue dog licence from that office.

I have not apply the licence yet, my friend's dog is keep outside my house, so if I apply for the licence now and DBKL ppl come and check then kena susah lah. Will apply only after I send back this dog.

Eh you mean you dont have license for your doggies also ah? I wonder if it is alright not to get the license at all lah. Cause I stay in an apartment so I dont know how to get the license if they really come to the house to check. How ah?

Hi friend

Forgot you are staying in the Apartment.

So maybe you want to save you time and hassle, cause DBKL or other local council will not issue you the license. The law have not changed yet. All strata title building are not allowed to keep pets.

Whether it is alright or not for me not to apply license ah? I got no choice. I can only apply for the dog that are visible from outside which is my friend's dog, then I cant apply for my own dog. Mad

If I apply for my dog, then when DBKL come and find out my house have another dog, hehh.... then kena sammon loh.

I also worry, in future when I try apply for my dog, how ah, Shiki is a banned dog. Will they approved the license? I dont think so.

dilemme lah.

Hi all,

I think that i'd better apply the license early next year as someone told me if i apply for it now..it will expire at the end of the year and i hv to pay for it again early next year.

Hope that it will be ok coz so far...no neighbour complain about my dog.

Anyway..my dog name is Goldie. He is turning to 1 year old at the end of this month. What's ur dog name?? is he or she an English Cocker Spaniel?? U can view my dog's pics by following the link below. I'll add more pic of him there soon when i'm free.

Hey Ern,

I have good news. I applied for the dog license from DBKL in Kuchai Lama and managed to get mine already.

The Indian old man there is really nice and it took me like 15 minutes to apply for the license. He gave me a form to fill up, paid him RM10.00 and that was it. He handed the license over to me straight away and I am done.

As for your dog which is a banned breed, does he look slightly mix? If he does then just put him down as mix breed loh? Tongue

Not sure if that will work but that is what came to mind lah.

Anyway, thank you very much for your help with the directions to DBKL. Now I can take Scruffy out and not worry about the authorities asking for his license loh.

Hey so when are we gonna meet up and bring our dogs out together lah?

u said tat u stay at apartment, can apply license?

RM 10.00 cheap lah, if i need to apply need to pay RM 50.00 very expensive. Unsure

My Shiki ah, she dont look like mix at all loh. That was my initial plan too,

but many ppl saw her and immediately recognise her, some say pitbull some say bull terrier, whatever they called it, they knew it is a banned breed. Mad

she is American Staffordshire Terrier, short form AmStaff or AST.

Last week bring Ah Amao for JT. THis week have to work Crazy

so can go.

Ola!

The guy at DBKL didn't ask verbally whether I stay in an apartment or terrace house. However, it was one of the questions in the form. I filled in my friend's terrace house address as she sometimes baby sit Scruffy for me. Tongue

The guy actually didnt say much except to say that I have to come renew the license in January for 2006 as the 2005 one which I have now will no longer be valid then.

Aiyah, you went for JT last week ah? I have always had the intention of going JT but something or other always comes up at work and I have to go back to work. Last week I was in PD that's why cannot go. Got sun burn really bad in PD. Was power kiting the whole time. Cool

I will try to bring Scruffy for JT this Saturday if all goes well and no last minute problem pops up at work.

My training class is at 5.30pm every Sunday at Taman Desa. Last week was Scruffy's first class and it was fun. We were doing the heel exercise in the rain Sly

Anyway Scruffy was really enjoying playing in the rain. He was so happy and kept jumping about and not paying attention to the heel command at all. So now I am training him at home to do heel and hopefully next week he will perform better.

So will you be dropping by this weekend at Taman Desa? Aiyoh by the way, if I were to see you also how to recognize you ha?

I stay in an apartment but used my friend's landed property address.

How come Rm50 for license? Is it because you stay in an apartment that they are charging you so expensive or is it because of where you stay as in the area?

I thought dog license is the same wherever you are no?

Wow! I saw your pics just now. You own a Siberian Husky too? I love Siberian Huskies but dont have the space to keep them lah.

However, Scruffy is turning into a real bulldozer now. So whatever he lacks in size he is really making up for it with his strength loh. You can be surprise how a dog that small has so much strength.

My picture page is still under construction.

Will share them with you when it is up and running lah.

So hope to see you at Taman Desa on Sunday lah. Bringing Scruffy out for his jog now.

want to know how is the temperant of your shiki?? I always love dog that obviously muscular type and wolfie type..saw your shiki..waluyeh..i love his chest...how is shiki behaivour and temperant..will probably consider one if my place is ready..

Hi Nicky,

I have to agree with you that it is really tempting to get a dog that is as good looking as Shiki. But then Ern already have problems getting a license for poor Shiki lah.

I really wonder if the authorities really do check for dog license. Have you ever brought Bobby San out and been stop by the authorities?

Shiki is an AST, she is 5 months ++ old. She is very loving and cute. She like human, she have met many of my firends. ALthough first time meet them, shiki jus like them all.

As puppy, she was 3 months plus when I brought her home, she like to bite [puppy characters] whenever we touch her, or when she pass by she like to bite our leg and because her jaw is very strong so it is pain and irretating.

At 5 months she dont simply bite now.

I let her mix with my westie, if there is no toy she will play bite with my them. If she have toy, in fact she won most of the time is in chasing for the toy, with the toy in her month, she will ask the other to play chase with her. the way she ask the westie really like seducing them. very funny Sly

I just train her sit. She learnt it just after few treats. My friend who is having her brother say they are too easy to train. Saw my friend's 1 year++ AST, she also like human. Same to all breeds, they have to socialise at young age, then they will be o.k.

At this age she is not muscular yet, that need training which can only start after she is 8 mths old. Weight pulling can only start after 18 mths old.

Will bring her to JT this week if there is. Last week intent to bring her, but her leg got cuts, so leave her at home.

although i always renew my dog licences every year at MPPJ, no one has ever come to my house to check. Not that I know anyway since I am at work and no one's home during weekdays.

My dogs do not wear the tags at home as the tags are on their walking leashes. MPPJ has come to my house area in the evening to check for mosquito breeding spots but they skip my house. I was home at the time and heard my dogs barking and growling furiously. When I went to check, the MPPJ group already left for another house. They did not even press the door bell. I suppose 2 rottweilers barking at them from the gate is quite a sight.

Do these council staff actually check? Maybe at MPSA since they are so keen to get rid of dogs in the first place. I will stay put in PJ area lah or else, always have to jaga jaga. Cannot ever move to condo either since they dun allow dogs there.

In S'pore, many condos do allow dogs but owners must be fully responsible for them. Must pick up the poo poo or else kena saman. I suppose here people are not so responsible. Always let their dogs shit all over the place. Walk the dogs with a pooper scooper-lah. So others dun complain.
