do you know the Mi-Ki Can't Post

Hi dog lovers in Malaysia

My name is Christine and I live in Germany. I have bought a very small tody dog in the USA and they call the breed overthere "MI-KI". They are estimating that this small dogs have their origin in Penang/Malaysia. The Mi-Ki comes into a long coat with beard and mustache or -very seldom- in a short coat without beard or mustache. The ears can be errect or dropped. they appear in all coat colours. Please view pictures of my website. We only shave the heads of the longhaired Mi-Ki's for the Show. I really would like to know if anybody knows more about the offspring of these little toy dogs? Does anybody have a similar dog? Does anybody have old black and white pictures showing already small toy mixed dogs in Malaysia in the past?

Hope to get some more informations

Thanks in advance

Christine

Re: [Tine] do you know the Mi-Ki [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello Tine,

well, this is the first time I have heard of this breed. So I did a little reading heheh.. seems it's a very rare toy breed and the history is very cloudy but research shows the breed may have an origin in Asia, just not sure where. Anyway, I would love to know more about this breed coz it's very new to me. Do you have pictures of your puppy?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I had some problems to get an this website yesterday so I'll try it again. Actually I own a very nice outstanding Mi-Ki male in black with white spots and I am getting a female in a few weeks. Hopefully I will have my first litter in the near future.

Re: [Shinya] do you know the Mi-Ki [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Shinya

thanks, I hope to hear more about the Mi-Ki.

The Mi-ki might look like a Tibetan Terrier but the body and weight is identic to those of the Chihuahua, means very tiny. And they do not have an undercoat like the Tibetan Terrier or the Shih-Tzu.

Thanks again for your help and interest

Re: [Shinya] do you know the Mi-Ki [In reply to] Can't Post

Can Nicki or you or anybody else give me some facts about:
-when was the Malaysian Kennel Club founded? (exact year)

-how long do you know of the existance of the Maltese dogs in Malaysia? How popular were and are they in Malaysia?Where did they come from (the UK)?

-do you have Japanese Chins and Papillons in Malaysia too? How popular are they in Malaysia and when do you estimate the first imports came and from where?

Thanks for all the informations I might get on these questions and may be someone has old black and white pictures of one of these breeds (Maltese/Papillon/Japanese Chin).

Re: [Tine] do you know the Mi-Ki [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi~ I can't reply ur all the question u ask~ Coz i am not a expert~ Beside, i guess Maltese is kinda popular in our country, but not much people own them due to the flur is hard to take care of~ And Japanese Chin is not popular in our country~ I have never saw any people own a Japanese Chin in our country so far... Today i went to book store and check about the information of Mi-Ki, and i found that this kind of breed is really rare, could be come from Asia and Europe, so far still no one can make sure where they come from~ hope the information will help your research~ Hope to hear from you soon~
