This sirion is actually a toyota production and design. but because it is a compact model, they concluded it would be better for their susidiary company Daihatsu to sell it. So it was passed down to them. In singapore this model is going for SGD60K so it is considered a steal in malaysia lah. worth buying.
the advantage is the DDVT engine and also features a timing chain that could easily last 200K Coupled with a DOCH and EFI, light bodyweight power to weight ratio stock standard i believe this stock standard 1.3 can take on the waja, wira and any other 1.5 or 1.6 litre sedans without vale lift engine.

anyhow, why do you need so much power for corners? unless you are talking about drifting. d MYVI is not for drifting lar. kalau mahu drift...then must use drift cars like d s15 & fat man. even d classic ae86 are equally fun for drifts lor.
its current set up as based on d daihatsu or toyota is sufficient for motor khana. however in tweaking a little more with d suspension especially (and perhaps along d way little items like d filters etc), this little city get about car would perform a little better than d stock model.

the 1.0 is the very very basic. i won't say 1.0 for a 900kg car won't be that under powered lor. which showroom your friend went to ?? can test drive summore. those around my area only allow test drive next month.

his car mana boleh drift...unless accident lar....mid engine...susah sikit lar.
toyota hardcore..tak ada lar...so happens tat our expereince with toyotas has been much better than any other cars lar..but seriously..i don't mind d current integra...runnable!
this car can't even corner without changing to 1st or 2nd gear. If you are in 3rd gear, the car will shake... finally..... khoo262 has come back to puppy.com

haha...d art of cornering many times lies in how you play with your throtle and try balancing d engine.
3rd gear shaking. what sort of shaking are you refering to? must bear in mind the car is still stock standard for normal street run lar.
when properly tweaked, i doubt that it will "shake" as you described. we took d passo for aa run up kk and also a fun trip at pasir gudang tracks last year....was good considering tat d owner has changed struts & abssorbers and added d necessary member brace.
mr...not d mrs...she's very well built and balanced.
we have seen friends sliding with d mkII..and tat's where d mrs differs..taken off d boot space. and coupled with d braces and sportivos thrown in...solid chick. of course d 2003 models with lsd makes even more difference to d handling...but darn expensive lor.
d s2k (some call it mid engine - almost) is quite capable of accidental drifting. again weight balance. we recently did a test drive of d s2k at some hills...d car rolls. but at straight..no doubt it was fun..though we wished for some solid mugen stuff in it.
