Well Sidney, since u asked wat dogs r suitable 4 wat…here goes: Dogs suitable 4 obedience trials: Lab, GR, Poodle, Shetland n Belgian Sheepdogs, Weimaraner, MS n a variety of Collies. Dogs suitable 4 agility trials: Border Collie, Shetland Sheepdog, Oz Kelpie n Cattledog, GR, Pyreneese Shepherd, Belgian Sheepdog, Poodle, Corgi, variety of Spaniels, JRT n a variety of small terriers. Dogs suitable 4 tricks/ performance: Irish Water Spaniel, Poodle, Dalmatian, Weimaraner, MS, Keeshond, JRT, Fox, Cairn n Irish terriers. Labs n GRs r unsurpassed in obedience work, hence most service dogs come from dese breeds. Border Collies n Shetland Sheepdogs dominate d agility field as dey r attentive n able 2 work at a distance from deir owners. Trick/ circus dogs r primarily Poodles altho d Irish Water Spaniel is very adept as well. If u ask me, d ‘Jack of all Trades’/ ‘all rounder’ title has 2 go 2 d Poodle as d breed is ranked pretty high on all 3 listings. Dese r general indications n shldnt b taken as gospel. Any1 with deir own views r welcome 2 add on 2 d list coz I may hv missed out on some breeds. It doesnt mean dat a Pug or Pomeranian cant excel in d above n hv actually read n seen a couple winning agility trials n flyball races as well. Groovy (JRT), ‘I like Poodles, Labs, GRs, MS n...’ __________________________________________________
