hElp!! whIch brEed iS beTteR tO keEp iN aPartMent?? Can't Post

Hi guys..

i am planing to have a puppy..wahaha..my bf said he is gonna buy me a doggie..Laugh( due to too hunger for doggie ) Tongue

well...i m not sure which breed i want...but so far is either shih tzu or long hair dachhund.

i m kinna concern about the breed coz i remembered that i read smthing about beagle and beagle is super doper active. beagle will end up chewing alot of being kept at home too frequent..Unsure

I have just moved into my new apartment..so if i had beagle...i wonder all my brand new furniture will last for how longUnimpressed, the most worry part for me is when they grew teeth and they started to chew... so...i wish to seek some advice from you guys...

Hi @ileen82!

I think it's best to get a doggie that does not make much noise like MS. I've one....and I tell u...alamak! Little things he want to kay poh and bark here n there.Tongue Shih tzu can make good pets in apts. My shih tzu is very quiet. U hardly hear a bark from him within one mth ( could be less than 6 times).

BUt he let us know wat he wants in other ways ie by looking at us in a certain way ( gives us *one kind look* if he is annoyed with us Tongue ) or gives us certain eye contact or just basically panting extremely loud or make little grunting sounds that sound like a piggie! hehe)

BUt then, I've heard of shih tzu which can be quite noisy too. Hopefully when you get your new puppy, your furkid won't be so noisy lor. Your apts got restrictions in having pets?

Rgds,

Cordy

pets are not allowed in condos.

but quieter ones likes pugs are quite ok...so long as your neighbours don't complain.

shalom is a shih tzu but is what we call the angelic one who rarely barks...but as cordy mentioned...we've also met some barky ones too.

check with other breed owners before you make a decision. furkids are cute..but the commitment is aplenty. have fun.....and keep us posted!

Toy or non-sporting breeds suitable 4 apartments or smaller spaces include:

Lhasa Apso, Maltese, Papillon, Pomeranian, Shih Tzu, Toy Poodle…all dese require a fair amount of grooming.

Chihuahua, Pug.

Try 2 read up on dese breeds 1st so dat u can make an informed decision on 1 dat really suits ur lifestyle n environment.

Beagles arent really suited 2 an apartment lifestyle unless u r able 2 spend a lot of time with him n willing 2 bring him 4 daily exercise outdoors.Groovy (JRT), ‘Personally, I like Poodles n Chihuahuas.'
