The trainer's name is Thomas Tan (Bethany Kennel). His wife is my colleague, and she's a good friend of mine. She told me about the dog training program that her husband is conducting for basic and advanced level too. -------------------------------------------------------- Siberian Husky + Silky Terrier = My Buckie Add Buckie in your Dogster : www.dogster.com/?187451

Hi Jessica,
How's life? and has sasha been naughty? read your recommended trainer in penang, was wondering you have started the training sessions yet? How much is the training and the duration for each session? Where is it held?
Someone gave me a pup (black and male) and I'm thinking of getting him trained when I've properly vaccinated him. He's just 2 months old and extremely fat and cheeky...especially at nite kept barking non-stop and peeing everywhere...especially the first week after I brought him back. He's been with us for 1.5 weeks now and already we've managed to train him to keep quiet at nite, to pee on the newspaper (although there's still some accidents every now and then) and to sit on command when we give him treats. He also knows to stand still whenever we wipe his backside after pooing. I consider it a big improvement after such a short period of time. He doesn't bark through the nite anymore, only when we wake up in the morning. (that's because he wants to be fed)
So anyway, how about some details on the training? THANKS!!!

hi liz,
so sorry for the late reply...din check out this thread until today...so din realize that you post msg for me..sorry ya...
yup...i went for the training d....it's puppy training class..the money we gave is for donation to spca penang actually...so no fix amount...you can pay any amount from RM80 onwards... ..the class is interesting....the trainer taught us on how to teach our pups on the basic commands like 'sit, drop, stand' etc...sasha loves to go to the class....i think it's very good to go such classes coz our pups have a chance to socialise with the rest...
the puppy class has ended in sept actually...n rebecca (the trainer) is going back to australia this dec. thus, she won b able to conduct anymore classes d....
so i'm actually waiting for the training class at minden heights...hopefully can get more info on dat...n hopefully the cost is not so exp.
it's good that you hv your new pup d....can post the pic here...would live to see...
yeah...sasha has grown up now....going to b 7 months soon...you can go to her blog n see her pics n some videos
so r u planning to join the training class at minden heights? perhaps we can go together...
it's good to hear that ur baby is housetrained...n i guess by now we would be about 4 mths old? fully vaccinated d?
since there's quite a number of dog lovers in penang (from this forum), perhaps we can organise a get-together...for us as well as our doggies...
i hrd that there's a park near adventise hospital which allows dog..not sure exactly where..will find out this weekend n let you know

Hi Jessica, The park that you mentioned which is near the Advantist Hosp is actually just behind the Adventist Hosp. It is actually a field. There is a small pondok at the far corner of the filed and that's the place where all the dogs having fun. That place is shady with all the BIG BIG trees.
Few ways could reach that field but for dog owner, is best to go straight to the pondok there because there might be someone playing football which could hit on your dog if you walk pass the football field.
If you are from town area, you could turn left at the HSL electrical shop, which is opposite 1-Stop. Go straight and turn right at the 3rd junction. Go to the end and you should see that the field is on your right. You should see the pondok nearby at the field too.
If you are coming from Penang Chinese Girls High School, turn at the Native Product shop/ Food court ( i dont know all the shop's name here ). Go straight and turn on your 1st right and follow the road which will slightly turn to your left. You will find the pondok at your left and for sure the field too. Get a shady parking space and enjoy with your dogs.
I used to go there for watching dog training but that was years ago where I dont have any dogs during that time. Now I have moved to Sg Ara and so..... that's rarely for me to visit the dog training at that far of journey. Anyone of you could share us if there is any dog training that is still going on there.

Hi all, I have found the dog training in the Minden Height. The field is at the back of the school. I try to elaborate more here for the direction and hope you guys can have a look there on Sunday morning 8.30-9.30. I saw a lot of poodles this morning and also a M'sia Ch Labrador which is own by the trainer.
The training location is located at Minden height which you need to turn in to Minden Height at the Gelugor traffic lights, in front of the Hindu Temple. If you are from town, the hindu temple is at your left and if you are from Bayan Lepas, the hindu temple is on your right. After turning at the traffic lights, you need to turn on your 1st left which you could see a DOBI sign hanged on the right corner house's fence and Siti Clinic and the 2nd houses. Follow the road which will be slightly curve to right and turn to your left just after the curve. You will see a school field on your right. Do take a right turn after/ beside the school field. Go straight and follow the road which will comes to a Y shape road and you can take right or left that will both also guide you to a football field. The training is at the football field.
See you guys there on next Sunday morning ya. I'll send you guys the training details/ fees when i receive the email from the trainer. Do let me know your email so that I can forward the details straight to you if possible.
